Title: Cougar Profiles
Post by: ebfd11 on January 05, 2015, 10:31:46 AM
Well I had an accident and broke my x55 stick and I said to heck with it and bought a Thrustmaster Warthog. Unlike the x55 with the dials I like for FOV and quick zoom ... I was wondering if anyone has a copy of their jsm file I can snag for AH. I have it set-up in AH but I want to utilize more of the functions for the stick.

BTW  it blows the x55 out of the water on stability and accuracy.

What kind of accident broke an X55, if you don't mind sharing?  I'd like to know how to better protect my own Rhino.

Glad you were able to upgrade to the Warthog.  A squadron mate just got one as well and attests to the stability and accuracy of the unit.

lol Ripley ...now that's funny.

well the funny part is I have a play seat and the throttle quadront was on the stand on the left side as I was getting in the seat I sat too quickly and broke the right side of the dual throttle.

So as the saying goes.. Whoops..

LOL Ripley.

Ahhh.  I understand, Dart.  I've had a couple of 'near-misses' with the same scenario.  Small seat, big butt, plastic throttle - bad combo.  Although I would never insinuate anything about your butt.

I will start a wife-proof savings plan for the next controller.  WartHog is topping my list for now.

As a current Rhino and Warthog owner, I have to say, the Warthog blows my mind at how much better it is than the X55.

Most of my flightsimming is now done in the A-10C in DCS. For that I of course use the Warthog. But for things in DCS like the F-15, Su-27, I prefer the X55. I don't have a whole lot of issues, and I feel it gives good quality control of the aircraft I'm flying. The Throttle is nice, but I prefer the Warthog throttle layout better. It has everything I need to keep smooth control of the A-10 while she bring the opposing ground force to their knees. I'd give the Warthog a solid 9.5/10, only because on the buttons on the back of the throttle, and the Rhino a solid 7/10.
