Title: "Friendly" mouse rollover
Post by: Zoney on January 05, 2015, 04:53:45 PM
I love the recently added feature that allows you to roll your mouse over a fiendly dar blip and get his name.  I would like the information to include his plane type right under his name.

I like to escort buffs and would like to be able to tell who is in one without bothering them with a PM.  Also many buff drivers are afk during climbout and do not see my query until much later and miss the chance to be escorted.

Example:

999000
  B17

I certainly would not like to see GOON written all over the map. As a matter of fact, I did't even like the name stuff to begin with.

I have to say no.  Its common lately to have players from other countries openly having a shade account logged in on Knights.  Country text, missions, icon rollover info, range vox, cv locations can have no expectation of privacy.

Its sad and shows no respect for fellow players, but its the reality of the game.

Shades are becoming too much of an issue as player numbers dwindle. Seven guys can kill a sides ENY, and make them fight p51s and Tempests with 202's on a Sunday night. This would just add to the problem with more info for shades to recon and then fly directly to you in their 163, knowing you are in 29s at 33k instead of 26s on the deck.

There is no level of ENY that will force players into C.202s.  Bf109F-4s, Mosquito VIs and Ki-61s?  Sure.  C.202s, not so much.

Last night our ENY was at 26 at one point... So there is a level. I remember clicking on an 190-A5 and was told the ENY was too high, that is a 25 ENY ride.

Thank you for your response sir.  I agree with you.  This feature would allow some people to identify an aircraft they would want to intercept if they were using a shade on the other country or even just had friends on the other country.  When they first allowed the rollover to ID the pilot I thought this might be a problem too but have not heard of it much.

The Fw190A-5 not being available does not mean you need to use the 202.  All of the rides I mentioned would be available at ENY 26.  The highest ENY limits will go would be to disallow ENY 29 and lower units, which is why I only mentioned capable units at ENY 30 or more.  There are others up there too, such as the P-47D-11.  C.202, IIRC, is ENY 40.
