Okay.
So as of now, it requires 20% of the two opponents' territory to win the war on any map.
So my suggestion is that on small maps, 30% of each opponent's bases must be captured in order to win a war, while on larger maps, it should take either 10 or 15%
My motivation for this is the fact that it's rare for a side to win a huge map these days while on the small maps, which are often more fun, one country can win the map in one or two days, and so in just two days we could go back to some huge map and be stuck on it for 10 days, and it just sucks. For example the map ndisles came up yesterday and I have a good feeling that it's already gone by now or will be sometime today.
Opinions....

+1!
I have never seen a large map won. We're always stuck on them for a whole week. Then we get to some good medium and small maps and someone rolls through it in about 4 hours. In less than 2 days we're back on a large map. :(

Not always. ;)
For example compello (the one we just were on): My logs show since Sept 12 it was won 12 times, 11 times it timed out, and 5 times I can't tell for sure but very likely timed out of in most cases.

Please! Large maps can be simply unbearable with <100 players, and to be stuck on the same one for a week or more...... :bhead

But.. but.. I like fighting all day to nearly win the war, to come back the next day to see we have lost it all!
Sarcasm aside, yes I would very much like to see this implemented.
+1 :aok

Any more thoughts on this?

As i said in another related thread if the large and medium airbases were worth more towards victory % than small air and vbases, then large maps should go quicker. Also adding another strategic consideration to base taking and defending. Maybe have large bases have larger/better radar. 2.5 cents <S>

+1 good idea.

Could always have a Titanic Tuesday rerun where you only need 10% of the town down to take the field. Then 3 guys NOE could capture airfields like the old days of AH1. Or NOE hoards could flip two to three maps in 24 hours. Either way, one pass with 1k Lancs would take down the 10% in a single pass, while a fighter de-acks, and the goon lays troops in behind. Or an extra friend so they have two M3 inbound.
Would be like the old days of whack a mole base flashing looking for the real base sneak. Back then if a sneak by three failed, they just upped elsewhere and kept sneaking. After the town was changed, I didn't realize how many newbies were banding together making their game bones by sneaking bases learning the game.
