I would like to see air spawns out over the ocean maybe a few sectors away from bases . Something for the planes that are for high altitude fights! Or maybe I am sick of chasing la7's in ack. I don't see much for drawbacks if it is done right. BUT I am sure I will be informed shortly .

I've always liked this idea. There are times I log on, have plenty of time and more than happy to spend 10-15 minutes climbing for alt, looking for action. More often though, I have limited time and do not want to take half of it in climbout.
I think a thoughtful airstart would encourage more high altitude fights and action. I know this has been done in scenarios with great success.

Also in the AvA, which has had some maps with air starts for years. It's at least an attempt to generate combat at historical altitudes (in ETO, at least).
Someone noted, however, that in the MA it is likely that enemy players would - what's the phrase? - camp spawn the air start locations. That would be very bad.

well.. If a runway is being vulched you don't spawn in B-29's now do you? I say if they were properly placed it would be a good add to the game, I love 30,000ft fights, but with work, family and other things, the ability to do that is often only on the weekend due to time restraints. And often only once. If we had airspawns we could do more high alt missions and possibly bigger multi bomber raids.

In general I think spawns should be programed so they do not generate a vehicle within X yards of a bad guy. That would be easy enough. This would make spawn camping very difficult. Two birds with one stone.

Would have to increase the radius of spawn zones in order for that to happen though. Or shape them in such a way so the player doesn't spawn even further away from the intended target/goal, due to enemies being on the 'normal' spawn area. Or they would have to make the x radius really close, but then it would be pointless to have.

If the spawn was within Sector X,Y and would take place at least one key pad from a con, that should work. Randomize the air start. I would think that would work great.

Now let's take it a step further and go for the Battlefield approach. Add the ability to air spawn next to a squad member who is X amount of distance from an enemy. :D
