Title: forgetting to roll film - don't you hate that?
Post by: caldera on January 15, 2015, 10:42:55 AM
Kicking myself for this one.   :cry

The fighter hangars were down at A100 and a low con was visible from the tower.  Took off in a TBM to find the town was white flagged and the con was a C-47.  He saw me and did a 180, but a enemy P-51 came in to put me down.  Dodged him a few times and even landed a few pings.  Then two La-7s joined in and the goon decided it was safe.

Not quite.  I was dodging these guys with rockets on and fired the full spread as he was coming in for the drop.  Not sure if I hit him in mid-air or if splash damage got him, because I was still trying to evade the fighters.  I died, but not before he did.

This is why I turned on auto-film. :)

So many things I wish I had recorded. :(

Or Use OBX and leave it running,  it keeps up to 30 minutes of recording buffered so if something cool happened within those 30 minutes you can save it with the press of a button.

No excuses now,  film or it didn't happen!

Got a pm from one of the fighters that confirmed the rocket kill.  So that's proof enough for me.  :neener:

I've gotten so lazy that it's to the point that I turned off auto-film, just so there was no need to cancel or save after every sortie.  :lol

You're one of the guys who should be filming every sortie, as they would provide a lot of entertainment. :)

Sure, if it weren't for Auto-Film always turning off early and cutting my fiery death scenes out of the film.   :D

Substitute an alternate ending ... something suitable for the grand demise!

Something like this:  (http://www.skylighter.com/images/newsletter/101/big-cremora-01.jpg)

My routine is, pick a runway, launch, e for engine, alt-r for film, jam the throttle open and start trimming :)

I have auto film on too. But I am so used to just hitting cancel that I tend to delete some good stuff through sheer force of habit.

Not that it matters. I rarely watch any of my films anyway
