Title: Skins File Comparison App
Post by: bustr on January 15, 2015, 03:22:31 PM
It would be nice if HTC had a small file comparison tool players can download and run against their skins directory which will tell them what is missing so they can then get the missing skins from the web site versus the background update while in the game.

Or have it imbedded in the game itself, so you can run it while in the hanger. Then it will produce a text file inventory of what you have and what's out of date, versus what is currently available at the web site. Or, then you can just turn on the auto updater as usual.

I realize this places a burden on Skuzzy to keep something up to date that the comparator works from. That is a very large negative consequence to this wish along with my apologies to Skuzzy.

This would be most helpful. I like to run historical skins for my squad in FSO and sometimes not everybody has the skin I select, and it's not easy to them to find and download the correct skin on short notice.

What about the ability to download all the skins as a zip file, and do a mass install :)

There was an application for awhile that power downloaded the skins and updated you. Always wondered what happened to that.
