Here is a way to identify those using multiple accounts concurrently to game this game. :noid
If they are using their accounts simultaneously, I suggest AH employ a nation identifier activated when this happens, a marker, like an asterisk on his roster name, and/or to be shown live on his icon. It should be seen by all players, not just friendlies, when a player is live using a second or possible multiple accounts, one in his country of loyalty, another listing any country he is using.
Another tool would be to cull scores, identify a player's scores in each nation, not just his overall raw score.
I remembered a player/pilot a few years ago having slipped up calling me out by name rather than aircraft type, even while out of icon range. :bhead I asked him how he knew my game name while not being near the base? No answer. He had an account where he was perched in my base tower seeing who & what aircraft they were taking up. I had just entered the game, saw a red dot at the edge of the dar, and we were the only two aircraft in the region.

It may be that I'm thick, but I don't really understand how this would improve the games dynamics in any way.

You're talking full blown cyber warfare just to keep that enforced. There are just too many ways around it for it to be feasible.
-
It's one thing for the enigma machine to have been cracked. It is entirely another to have an opponent know where exactly you are and what you are driving.

Maybe list one?

How do you think they indentify and link 2 different accounts?

The same way the company I work for does it for our games.

It's lame and sucks the fun out of the game for the strategy/mission guys, but is it against the rules or frowned upon by HTC?

Are the number of violators found significant at your company? Just seems to be an over rated problem in AH.

That's always been the problem, nobody knows. HTC has come out very strongly on their cheating policies. It is very well known that it is not tolerated and will be dealt with harshly. But is having 2 or more accounts cheating? To some players it is and whether or not it is as rampant as some believe HTC is going to have to make a stand on what the policy is and if it will be enforced.
It has become an issue, and one that player will cancel their subscription over..

If anyone is so concerned about this subject, it is best to email HTC directly with all the details. Bringing it to the forums will most likely cause some people to blow a gasket and earn them a short vacation courtesy of Skuzzy.

I wasn't asking you. You already know why this would not change anything.

Yes because we have to contend with RMT (gold sellers) accounts.

I am pretty sure that this is an issue that is greatly exaggerated. If u look at the total number of players in the game i am pretty sure that its not more than 1-2 in total that use double accounts. But its not exactly hard to get accused of some form of cheating... :noid
BTW: up from any base under attack, kill the spit, la7 and f4u and just wait for the same players to come back in the same plane...
With a little effort by da brain and some experience its not hard at all to predict what is going to happen.

I think that is the point, it has to come out into the open. HTC policy on this should be plainly spelled out so when someone questions it they can be pointed to the official policy.

Whether it's 1 or 2 guys, or whole squads is unimportant. Players BELIEVE it is an issue. As it is right now it's kind of a grey area. On one hand it's ok to have a number of accounts because you have other members of your family that play, or you have friends over, what ever. But it is documented that should a player be caught giving the location of a CV group, or NOE mission location to an opposing side player it IS considered cheating and is a punishable act.
HTC is on top of ANY accusations of cheating because the game must maintain the reputation that it is fair. Damaging that reputation could effect the subscriptions.

You might just be reading too much into it. There are a lot of people that have some pretty strong habits and you can depend on them doing the same routine on a nightly basis. So after quite a few engagements on some maps you know how to find some people. Nothing really magical about it.

And how is that going to happen? :headscratch: Its enough to kill a guy in the "wrong" way to be called a cheater. People are just bad loosers and a bit paranoid. Hard to do anything about it

Personally I couldn't care less about spies, heck if a mission Im in is ratted out I get more guys to shoot at!

This is something HTC is going to have to take care of. Obviously you really cant just go on a players accusations.
First HTC is going to have to lay out the rule/law in clear black and white. Now the rule is known and those breaking it are subject to punishment. Catching someone at it could be as easy as hitting the "report" button and HTC can review the logs much like they do say in a mass reporting that gets a player squelched. After the review either there is an issue and the player gets his/her punishment, or if falsely accused, the reporting player is punished.
As I said, I don't care that much about spies, I am not into the "win the war" aspect of the game that much any more. Maybe once the game play turns back to missions with some substance I will go back to it, but the point is There are always cries of "SPIES!" and shades and so on. I'm sure many people quit because they feel there are too many spies. If HTC want to get a handle on it they have to post clear rules on the multi-accounts and spying so that people know whats right and fair and what is going to get them in trouble.
If the game gets a reputation that you can't run missions because the "spies" are always leaking the info then who is going to want to bother running missions? If that is the style of game play you enjoy and the "spies" make it un-playable, then why pay for a subscription?

Mr Zimme, I think you missed the initial post (OP) that set up how I knew this guy had a second account. The guy screwed up and called me out by name, and I had just entered the game, not returning from any fight cycling. I asked him now he knew my name...never talked to me again, no response. It was late at night, there was no one else at my tower or base to have been asked (PM'd) by the guy either. This leaves only one mechanism.
An unrelated evidence, is the incredible rapid route some show garnering all the achievements. I'm not envious, it is just evidence & who cares about it. I'm holding at 2 stars and content about it. The innovation, resourcefulness and effort for doing a second account does have some "achievement" value I suppose. It should be listed something like this: "Using second account to make your own targets to accelerate achievements"-- 1 pnts :x
Now about 10+ years ago I think, I used a second account to bring supplies to myself, over-turned in a tiger or something. It took a while to set it up on another computer but it worked. Then the free 2 weeks ran out. I had all kinds of ideas, but never used it again.

no, it also means ANYONE on your country could hover his mouse over your dot and pm him your name, text him, call him on the phone, etc.. someone didn't have to be in the tower at your field.
so, more than one mechanism at least.
also, i have said it before, i am not convinced spying is all that rampant to begin with, but even if it were, at the very worst, it causes players to interact. that should be considered a good thing.
unless people are spying on missions so they can avoid them??

Locked for rule #7
This is a classic example of why we have this rule, the paranoia a post like this creates is 100 times worse then any real issue that exists.
If you have a specific issue contact us directly.
