Post by: Dragon Tamer on January 28, 2015, 09:42:35 PM: Lyric posted a bunch of pics of Emils that weren't in the game so I grabbed one I liked and put it together.

This one belonged to 5./JG52.

I tried something a little different with this skin. I changed the light color that interacts with the spec map. Basically, instead of exposed metal surfaces reflecting white, they now reflect amber. I'm quite happy with how this little effect turned out and will probably use it on all my future skins.

Tried to make a time lapse film of this one as well but the footage towards the end got corrupted (probably from recording for 9.5 hours straight).

1 You use the incorrect upper wing cross. See this chart, use type #1.

2. Reverse the emblem on the left side. The character should face forward on both sides.

Also, you should try to replicate the lumps and bumps on the nose using the bump map. It really adds to the realism seeing those details.

I do the same thing with the reflection colour, but not to the same extent as you have done here. I like the way it looks on your skin so I may ramp the effect up on my future skins.

Post by: Dragon Tamer on February 15, 2015, 06:40:30 PM: I made the changes that devil suggested and updated it on my DA page, guess the BBS didn't want to play ball. I also did a few tweaks to the skin, most of it perspective related (things looked lowered when they should have been raised).

So...I'm a tad confused. This picture shows the thicker cross on the top of the wing, that is in the first batch of skin pictures, not the thinner one that is in the second batch. :headscratch:

Nice catch. I have never seen that style cross on the upper wings before. Sorry for suggesting the change Dragon.

I do not mean any harm. It was something a spotted the moment I looked at the new picture provided. However, it doesn't look like a type 2. It looks more like the type 3. :headscratch:

Too late, skin's already been approved. I'll have to wait until I'm able to update it to fix the issue.
