Title: For your amusement - an old AH wishlist
Post by: oboe on February 12, 2015, 11:42:15 AM
I found this old wish list on an old backup drive.  Its gotta be 4-5 years old - nice to see AH added many of the planes I was hoping for.  The Battle of Britain scenario planeset is filled out pretty nicely now.  I still believe in the value of some of these, others seem trivial.   And the repair hangar was always a hot button; it surfaced independently from time to time in the past.

I still think it would be very cool if AH supported seaplanes/floatplanes and added planes like the Rufe, Emily, and Catalina.

Look again, chief!   It's there!

Remember Wolfpack Radio?   Some guy put a bunch of period news broadcasts streamed together with 1940s big band songs.

Regarding the wildlife sounds while on the ground or in a vehicle with engine off - I just went to AH, got in a vehicle drove a bit and shut off the motor, then in the background, I had
this mp3 playing:

It seemed pretty effective.    Imagine sitting there listening to something like that, and then suddenly you hear in the distance the ominous sounds of the approach of enemy tanks.

Its a royalty-free clip, too.

Oboe, you were ahead of your time with the enviromentals, WoT has that sort of stuff, and its pretty effective.

Dozens and dozens. Its is a abhorred weapon and a horrible wish.

I remember all the He-111 wishes...now that we got it, hanger queen. But in the AvA it's used frequently for our BoB setup. And the Beaufighter - geebus, people wish for that on a monthly basis.

After the yak3 won recently and the very people who voted it in being regularly shot down by one at this time, maybe a non-latewar cannon monster will be voted in.

And we should wish for the Beaufighter every month.  It's still not here :(

You forgot to check off the A6M2 and the engine damage sound.

I meant the floatplane version of the A6M2 - the "Rufe" not the "Zeke" - A6M2-N.    Shoulda been more clear.

I didn't know about the damaged engine sound - when did that come in?

Just because the He-111 is a hanger queen for the main arena doesn't mean it doesn't get flown in snapshots, scenarios and FSO. For years I advocated early war planes (P-39, P-40s even the Ki-27). Still would like to see the Do-17 even though it would be worse then the He-111 in the main arena, but adds much for the Battle of Britain campaign.

Everything that get added nowadays do not have to be 1945-ish.

Quick add-on's for existing plane types adds variety.
