Probably either a T-72 or T-80 tank destroyed by the Russians pretending to be rebels.
ack-ack

That's a messed up situation over there with no end in site.
The the political lines drawn in the sand by all the nations siding one or the other side, could end up being the beginning of the "last war".
Dummies.

Well Im glad this is a "tanks" thread. Otherwise I'd think it was cheap Russian propaganda with a bunch of drunken Russians with no teeth in it, assisted by a Ukrainian prisoner who was probably in fine health when captured.

I have really enjoyed following them. They report from both sides of the line. That reporter gets really close to the action. Enough for his and friends or associates vehicles to get hit by shrapnel.
Aren't those pretty old obsolete tanks? Don't no much about newer tanks.

It's a T-64. You can tell by the T-72 type hull but with small road wheels. The turret is very similar to T-72 and the gun is 125mm smoothbore.
It's the one tank Russia doesn't export to other nations.

Its in service in several former WP-countries including Ukraine and both sides are in possession of T-64 so video doesnt say much, could be a rebel tank as well.
But several photos and videos have shown T-72BM:s in Ukraine, a tank that Ukraine is not in possession of and the rebel could not have got them from any other source than Russia.

Russian tank designers are notorious for placing the main gun ammunition below the turret ring. It does lower the turret profile. However, if the armor is penetrated, and the main gun rounds ignite - the turret pops fairly rapidly. (did I mention the crew usually fries as well?)
Lots of Iraqi T72 crews suffered this fate as well
