Title: TM HOTAS Cougar profiles - Warthog Stick
Post by: TheFox on March 02, 2015, 11:42:12 AM
Is it possible to use the old joystick profiles on the TH Hotas Cougar on the TM HOTAS Warthog, either by uploading them directly or by importing them into the new TARGET software. Just thinking about upgrading my old Cougar (which I can't get to work in a W7 environment) and trying to get a shortcut to programming :)  Also, my old CH pedals have a D connector (not USB), will they work with the Warthog or have I got to look at replacing them also?

Cheers

The Cougar works with this driver. Get the 32 or 64 bit to match your system.
2007_HCO_VISTA_RC1 (http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=50&cid=1).

Your CH pedals will not connect to the Warthog. They will still work with the Cougar.

TARGET does not convert Foxy files but it's easy to program. I don't use it, I just program in AH.

I've also never found any program that converts foxy to target files.  Be happy to be proven wrong, but I think you'll have to do it the long way.

Thanks for these replies - I have tried using the 2007 HCO VISTA RC1 driver on my Windows 7 64bit system but I keep getting two Unknown devices come up and a message that the Joystick is not properly connected. No amount of trying to uninstall the unknown devices has any effect and although I have heard that people have managed to connect their Cougar to W7 64bit machines, I haven't yet found any detailed instructions of how they did it :(

Try installing in safe mode.

I'm sure it works, I currently use it in Aces High with 64 bit Win7.  :D

I had to use a powered hub after I changed motherboard. In my case I suspect its something wrong with the mohterboard, but still, it works with the powered hub I have.

Bitten the bullet and bought myself a Warthog :)  Certainly a step up from the old Cougar in terms of construction etc but now trying to get me head around Target. In the meantime has anyone got a profile map they can let me have as a start point ? I am sure it will give me a better idea of how the thing works - senility is just a step away here .... :(

Haha - I doubt I would pose any threat if I did use one of the 'aces' profiles - never was any good but enjoy it all the same :)
