Title: New DCS F14 Announced
Post by: Gman on March 03, 2015, 11:55:18 PM
If the Super Hornet that's under way wasn't cool enough, they announced an F14A and B sim from the same group that did excellent work on the Mig21.

The page is not even 1 day old, and 53 pages long over there.  A lot of guys have been looking forward to this, me included.  I wonder if Mace is still around from the Golden Gryphs, be great to have his input review on an F14 sim.

New Aces High this year, now this.  Going to have to apply for more hours in each day.

Now THIS, may actually get me to mess around with DCS.  The F-14 Tomcat....    If I could, I would buy one. :D

Nice... I picked up the Dora, K4, and 51 from the last sale they had.  Eventually I'll branch out to the jets I reckon.

Is dcs a combat sim? If so how are the fights? Is it like a-10's vs k4's? Or is there arenas based on year?

Yeah, I once bought the A-10 years ago. It was impressive software but flying around shooting AI is boring to me. As is going thru start up procedures and what not. Like I said it was impressive software, and the crowd was great, but its all for nothing if you can't actually fight people.

And there are some real hard cores with DCS. Im talking big time rigs with all the Bells and whistles. They even have software writers in their crowd who write associative programs. As much as I'd love to jump in a Tomcat my 2 hours a week free to game just doesnt allow it.

HIIIIIIGHWAAAAY TOOOO THEEEEE DANGER ZONE!!!!

One day free money threshold is going to equal out with desire threshold and I'm going to get into DCS...  I'm just not quite there yet for many of the reasons Rich stated.  Still, an F14 sim is something I've wanted since oh... about 1986.  I wonder with the level of detail DCS seems to have, will there be shirtless oily beach volleyball as a part of gameplay?
