Title: Shooting it up
Post by: Ripsnort on March 08, 2015, 10:56:53 AM
Fun stuff. I've been going through new acquisitions lately with the youngest 16 year old son and since we have more time on our hands we're visiting the range weekly. We've had different themes like "Communist-Custer" day (Springfield 1873 Trapdoor and SKS 7.62mm rifle) and "Remington Day" (3 remington rifles in  .30-06, .280 Express and 7mm Mauser)

Enjoy!Extra credit: My Nephew last week shooting a Mini gun at a Texas Army range.

To cool. Careful with the Trap Door or you may never want to shoot another gun. I shot my Glock yesterday, OMG I was putting bullets thru the same hole and its light as a feather on my hip.

Too late for that Rich, I'm scouring the interwebs to add another to the collection.
Hopefully there is a 12 step program to get my back to normal otherwise the wife might be using one of these on me real soon!

Nice shooting with your Glock!

Only range I know of is at Townsend. What kind of options in your area?

It definitely lets you know it's there but not as much with the low pressure loads, Flench. That's all I'd run through those old guns anyway.

Out of the bunch above, the Remington Model 700 .30-06 kicks the most and the SKS 7.62mm the least, according to my son. I'd have to agree.

I use to have a Remington 700 in a 30-06 but my 45-70 well give you a nose bleed , guess I need to cut down on the powder .
