You got enough super dooper pooper Godzilla class uber gaming PC's to hand out for free to all of Hitech's paying customers? So you aren't by your self flying around in super dooper pooper Godzilla eyecandy land.

They already increased the detail level on the DM in the WWI planes.  I truly wish they would have applied that to the WWII ones as well.  Artwork/graphics, whatever, but I'd love to see more detail on the stuff that can be harmed on a plane.

I'm glad they didn't. I take a noticeable, brief frame rate hit when I get damaged in the WWI arena. In the MA where everyone is always shooting at me, it would be so bad that I would have to log off.

The question then becomes, are you running at minimum settings, or could you have found settings that didn't result in that drop?

My settings are usually minimal, the only advanced setting that I run is detailed water. This hiccup happens whether I'm at high graphics or low graphics which makes me think it may be a connection issue rather than a graphics issue. A more detailed damage model means more info needs to be sent out when I take damage. This spike only happens briefly when I get shot at and goes back to normal once I'm no longer being shot at (aka, I'm back in the tower)

Shot AT, or hit?  If it's when they hit, it's quite possible.  If it happens when they're shooting near you, that would point to something else.

It's specifically hit, I had a guy spraying at me like crazy without hitting me and I didn't notice it. It does also sometimes happen when I shoot at someone else, but not often enough for me to find a pattern.

B25H also has a significantly better damage model than anything else in the MA. Sure wish everything could get to that standard. More interesting than seeing a prestine B-17 tail gun listed as "damaged", for example.

Let's start with the fact that you don't have the faintest clue how big of a resource hit it would be to have a better damage model in AH in general.

...and continue with the fact that the dmg model AH currently has (as far as planes are concerned), has its roots in mid 1990's. Therefore, it is more than warranted that Eagl here brings up a question about whether the dmg model in AH should be updated.

With more people like you there wouldn't be PCs or Internet in the first place.

It's the graphical details of the damage that is better on the B-25 (and other recently added planes), the damage model is the same as the other planes.

You have PC's and Internet because of people like me. Back then none of this was as sexy and eycandy orgasmic as today catering to the attention span of gnats. I think Ack Ack remembers the monochrome and 16 color good old days.

The OP reminds me of an over eager young product salesman who gets the biggest deal in the history of the company from a previously uninterested company. The CEO asks the salesman which of our fine products you sold them.

The personal transporting teleporter answered the salesman.

The CEO responds with a question instead of strangling the over eager salesman. Do you know what our product line is and it's limitations? The salesman responds, but I got the deal because I used my imagination. The CEO responds, then you don't know we manufacture vacuum cleaners and self transporting floor cleaning robots.

Star citizen and Aces High are not the same under the hood. You got enough spare super dooper pooper Godzilla PC's to share with all the kids in the class room?

That game is simply gorgeous, but you need a pretty beastly system to run it.  My system does fairly ok singleplayer, just can't hack multiplayer in it without too much chop to play.  Maybe the release version will be better optimized (fingers crossed).

If the people at the ragged edge of just barely being able to run the current version are already going to have to upgrade if they want to keep playing, it would seem to me one of the better times to maybe up the requirements a bit more by improving the (dated) damage model.  Pie in the sky, I know bustr wants to be able to play on a TI86, but it seems to me it would be a good thing to do.  YMMV.

So how are you going to guarantee keeping Hitech's light bill, payroll and loan payments paid when you gleefully kick most of his customer base to the curb to have your eycandy orgasmic wish come true?

No takers on that reality hanging over Hitech and his family?

I wonder if W is even in the Alpha  :headscratch:

Anyways, if ya read what Bustr's saying... it would be nice if we could have such awesomeness across the entire spectrum of detail levels but not everyone "and this is the general bread'n'butter of AH" has the systems or are close to being able to get such a upgrade.

Those of us that have to wait a few years to buy this years PC's that are considered beefy enough to regularly enjoy such graphics could be at loss... It doesn't hurt to think about the little guy... We're not a STEAM game community where 80% own nice gaming rigs...

In AH3 as stated before by HTC, much more work will be done in the graphics card instead of the CPU.
Skuzzy already wrote in here somewhere how much graphics memory you need for the fancy stuff.

Some system with old graphic cards will have to do with less fancy scenery, some may even have to upgrade to make it run properly.

You can probably not run the new game with a old not upgradable laptop or a very low-end graphics card equipped machine.

You may or may not like it, but HTC made a business decision about it.

The reality is the game is suffering a LOT more from inability to attract new players than it is retaining people with dated systems.
