I get some pretty good stutters with this new rig.
Do I just live with it? What do you think, Skuzzy?

Level 3 net sux. They drop packets going through DC for me.
Hop 10 I think you can ignore.
Stutters sound local unless I misunderstand you. Check that environment map is set to none in AH graphics advanced options.

I walked him through the latest advanced settings,he set the vidcard to application controlled for AA and used the games AA settings. I had him uncheck all the options then check them one at a time to see if it was an isolated setting but even with everything unchecked he was still getting stutters.
So I suggested Rolex run pingplot to see if it was a network issue and you can see the results.
Rolex's new system should run AH no problem but whitout being able to see what's exactly happening it's over my head.

How does it run offline?
Are online stutters just with other aircraft?
How is it with no AA?
Using dynamic super resolution?
What's the frame rate when getting stutters?
-
It's video stutters.
Running:
Intel i5 4690 3.5Ghz
PNY 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW ACX 2.0
Offline is smooth, but AH only runs at 60fps offline.
Online runs at 144fps.
Stutters are terrain stutters.
Environment mapping is "none."
No AA has the same stutters.
All resolutions have the same stutter.
Here are screen shots of NVIDEA settings:

Thanks for any advice...

This caught my eye. Odd that it runs at 2 different fps.
It appears your desktop refresh rate is set at 144? (if AH vsync is on)
If so, have you tried lowering desktop refresh rate to see if that helps?
-
The refresh rate differences are a clue something is wrong.
Packet loss will not cause stutters. It will cause player controlled objects to stutter, or micro-warp.
The packet loss through Level 3 is just going to happen. Level 3's network is way oversold and they have no intention of fixing that.

Look at the monitor settings. Try different refresh rates, 100 and 120 online, and look at game setting options on the monitor.
-
I get the same terrain stutters with every refresh rate (60, 100, 120 144).
It's interesting that I can't get a frame rate higher than 60 when offline, regardless of NVIDIA control panel refresh settings. I set it to override game settings to highest refresh (144Hz), but it doesn't work in offline mode.
Thanks for info. It might be a sound issue, since I had stutters when firing.
-
Do you have sound enabled through your video card/hdmi as well as a sound card?
-
If you installed the sound drivers for the video card, they can cause all manner of problems. If you are not expecting to hear sound through the HDMI port connection to a television, then get rid of those NVidia sound drivers.
-
Have you tried blur reduction off?
Is your monitor firmware 1 or 2?
Can you hook up a different monitor to test stutters?
-
No, I only have headphones/mic plugged in through jacks. No other speakers.
I'll try uninstalling the NVidia drivers and give it a shot.
(I'll try that too if I still have issues, FLS)
Thanks, as always...

I have also seen a frame rate issue between offline and online.... offline my fps are capped at 128 no matter what i do with vsync . online it will run at 144 or uncapped . I had a micro stutter pretty bad the other night after calibrating my monitor to tft centrals recommendations .... seems like the higher contrast settings introduces stutter into AH for some reason . If i go back to a lower contrast setting, like the FPS1 or 2 setting preset , it smooths out perfectly.
Btw ....we have the same monitor... just noticed ur running a 2720z . Mine has the latest firmware , guess the 1st versions had issues with blur reduction so i would check which one yours is running .
A: You may check the firmware version of your monitor by going into your monitor’s service menu, by doing the following steps:
1. Turn off your monitor (tap POWER and then wait 5 seconds) if it is already on.
2. Cover the MENU touch button (4th touch button out of 5, excluding POWER button).
Special Note: For XL2411Z users, cover 2nd touch button (from left) instead of 4th.
3. While covering MENU button with your finger, briefly tap the POWER button.
4. Nothing will happen for 3 seconds. Ignore this pause, keep covering MENU button.
5. Suddenly, all lights will flash simultaneously.
6. Release your finger off the MENU button.
7. Monitor will power up. Wait for the monitor to power on.
8. When the monitor is displaying computer desktop, tap the MENU button.
9. A blue “Service Menu” will appear, displaying the firmware version of your monitor.

Thanks 38ruk.
I'm off on a trip, so I'll work on this more when I get back the week after next.

Frame rate changes between offline and online are not anything the game has control over. This is something far removed from us.

If you can try a different monitor that should indicate if it's a monitor issue or a graphics driver issue.
