Title: The Forgotten Plague: Consumption
Post by: Hap on March 15, 2015, 04:57:20 PM
http://video.pbs.org/video/2365422268/ (http://video.pbs.org/video/2365422268/)

I can't find the sentence in the description, but it claims 1 in 7 of all deaths have been due to tuberculosis.

The story of the disease and cure handled so well words fail.

Yeah, my parents' generation maybe the last had to deal with it, here in the West anyway, though I hear tell it is now coming back amongst the homeless and the ice fiends, perhaps I should watch the video.

The other one that people forget is polio, anti-vaxxers especially like to forget about that one, same as they like to forget about the effects of measles on pregnant women and their unborn children.

The only other one I've had to deal with in any way is malaria - word is half of all human deaths across history were due to it, though I'm only the messenger, and given the world's population and distribution thereof these days, I wonder if that's still so.

Scherf,

Do watch.

It's gripping, real, and important.

Is this Adam Zucker of southeastern Pennsylvania?  Wings Field?  Angel Flight?

...I know him...

Can't, "We're sorry, but this video is not available in your region due to right restrictions."

Maybe it'll be on YouTube as well, PBS Newshour is on there.
