I plugged in a new (same model) monitor, but when the game starts the picture is slid over to the left, with about 20% of the view missing, with an equally-sized vertical stripe of blackness on the right side. I've tried reloading the drivers, no luck. My other games and software work fine.

The game has no control over that.
Are you sure the game video resolution is set to the native resolution of the monitor?
-
Native res of the monitor is 1900x1080 (I forget the exact #'s). Only way I can get the game to fill the screen properly is to crank down the game res to 1440x900 (or there abouts).

Do you have any type of game profile stored for Aces High in your video driver settings? If so, remove it.
We have absolutely no control over how the game is shown on the monitor. The video card driver and card control that.

I'm satisfied with what I did. Game is playable. Something else worthy of note is that when I initially started up the game after installing the monitor (and using the native res of ~1900x1080), a monitor pop-up appeared (not a windows or game pop-up) which said "Adjustment in Progress" with a couple of checked items. As that adjustment was running (maybe 4-5 secs), the game screen slowly shifted to the left. I have no idea what that was.
-
Have you looked at your monitor setting options?
-
It means the monitor was trying to compensate for the timing in the video signal from the video card.
-
Why not delete the video8 file and reset the monitor to default?
I'm also wondering why the original identical monitor was replaced.

I have two machines on my desk, with the same monitors. I switched the one over to my gaming machine because the other one got damaged in the hold of a plane during a recent biz trip.
I will try the suggestions.
