I thought that this was interesting.
In 2012, many of OnLive's staff lost their jobs when the company was sold to a venture capital firm after running up about $40m in debt.
...things did not bode well when it cut the price from $14.99 to $7.95 just a month later.

Anyone know anyone using them? Or CloudLift or Grid?

OnLive started off a cloud based subscription gaming service, but sadly it was just a couple of years ahead of its time and could never raise the capital to fully fund the company. It's funny that Sony purchased them, probably in a move to get rid of the competition to their own cloud gaming service, PlayStation Now.

The article says:
Sony is expected to use the 140 patents it has acquired to support its own PlayStation Now streaming service
