Title: New Spotting Aircraft

Here is a aircraft that was used in the Pacific for hauling supplies, air ambulance, and to rescue downed pilots.

On 22–23 April 1944, U.S. Army Lieutenant Carter Harman of the 1st Air Commando Group conducted the first combat rescue by helicopter using a YR-4B in the China-Burma-India theater.[5] Despite the high altitude, humidity, and capacity for only a single passenger, Harman rescued a downed liaison aircraft pilot and his three British soldier passengers; two at a time.[6] On 22–23 January 1945, another rescue by the R-4 involved several legs for refueling and navigating through passes between mountains nearly 10,000 feet (3,000 m) tall, to reach a weather station located at an elevation of 4,700 feet (1,400 m). The higher than normal altitude required a downhill run of 20 ft (6.1 m) to get airborne.[7]
While the R-4 was being used for rescues in Burma and China, it was also being used to ferry parts between floating Aviation Repair Units in the South Pacific. On 23 May 1944, six ships set sail with two R-4s on board each vessel. The ships had been configured as floating repair depots for damaged Army Air Forces aircraft in the South Pacific. When the helicopters were not being used to fly the parts from one location to another, they were enlisted for medical evacuation and other mercy missions.[8]

This would be a great small tank Spotting Aircraft while could also be used to carry 2 boys of vehicle sups.

You have just made GVers very happy. At 75mph, all of them will be able to claim a kill of an aircraft with their main gun. You are so very thoughtful.

It would be kinda neat but surely the next spotting ac will be one of the most mass produced of its type ...... The Po-2 (U2)......

Floats like a butterfly stings like small stingy thing.... ( or "thang" depending upon origin)

The Fa 223 should come along with it. Would be more useful for the MA, realistically being able to carry either GV supplies or airfield supplies as well as 2 500kg bombs (disabled from vehicle bases, of course), and actually armed.

There are a few liaison type plaines that would be nice to fly around in. I can think of piper and Stinson and Lysander, and I'd like to see what that German Owl fly's like. Of course in reality there isn't much you could do with them in game at the moment, sort of like the seaplanes that could be added.

The only seaplane that would get a lot of use would be the A6M2-N, out of ports for defense.  Token air defense is better than nothing at all. :)

N1K1 would see more use than the A6M2-N.

I bet the H8K2 would get decent use as well.

H8k would likely be used as more of a gunship than anything else, what with all those 20mm turrets.

Well, when you put it like that....  lol  I think of the three you list, the one that would most likely be added first would be the N1K1, for LW use.  But the A6M2-N may be better, being able to cover a larger range in the timeline if I recall correctly. :headscratch:

Personally, I say add all three plus one, the H6K. :)

If you add the H8K you'll have to add the Sunderland, but than you have to add the U-boats as well. It's a slippery slope.

Is that some kind of law or what?  ;)

H8K2 Should be fun to use, aviable at ports only and no formations. Could be a fun long range bomber and ship hunter. low bomb load but a lot of guns.

The Piper Cub (L-4) should be high on the list for a spotter aircraft.
Hang a bunch of Bazookas on it and we have a winner. What could possible go wrong?

The "Charles Carpenter" achievement is a must, kill 6 tanks with the Bazookas.
