This airshow goes on all week and usually I don't go until Saturday but today was Warbird Wednesday and they had the Texas Flying Legends there this year. Today is the only day they were going to fly and they brought their A6M with them. Since this is 1 of only 2 a6ms in flyable condition I couldn't miss is. Here are a few photos from today. I took over 1300 so I have quite a bit to go through and I'll be going back on Saturday. Thunderbird 8 also arrived during the show ahead of the rest of the Thunderbirds who will come in later in the week. Thunderbird 8's job is to survey the show sight and make any notes as far as structures or boundaries that may cause an issue with the performance. He made several passes around the airshow space before landing and allowing the show to continue. Anyway enough typing get lets get on with the pics!

Good stuff!
I'll bet that's the same T-33 that I saw at the Great State of Maine air show a few years ago.
It's very graceful in flight, and sounds good too.

I'll be there with my family on Saturday! Super excited!

Gotcha. Wasn't sure if you were shooting Nikon or Canon. I figured one of the 70-200's though. Really nice captures. :)

Great day to be out here!

Wow thank you SilverZ06. That P-40 is a P-40K if I recognize that tail fillet. Pretty rare I think. Very interesting to note the wing camouflage pattern too.
Very cool Sabre photo too. That aircraft just looks right to me.

Great day to be out here!
It was HOT! I didn't stay for the night show this year as I wasn't feeling well by the end of the Thunderbird performance. I drank a lot of water but I may still not have had enough. I came home and went straight to bed. I'm uploading pictures now and will post some more tonight. I was kinda disappointed in the Saturday show. They used to do war birds on Saturdays as well. I'm glad I actually went on Wednesday this year.

Yes it was very hot.
We didn't stay for the night show either. It was a long day already. I loved watching all the planes take off at the end of the day on saturday, that was a show within itself. We saw the B17 and 24 lift off.
Do wish we could have saw some of the warbirds fly. The ones we did watch were remake p51s that didn't have the real engines. Would have loved to see the F4U fly.
I've seen the thunderbirds a few times and my dad and I agreed it wasn't their best performance and they left out a few big stunts, my dad had mentioned. Maybe it was a new crew?
We still had a blast and I really enjoyed getting to see all the planes. Maybe one day I'll actually get to fly in one....
Never have got the chance to fly a real plane. Hopefully AH doesn't skew my perception of reality towards flying airplanes haha

Haven't had a chance to go through my photos from yesterday yet. But here is a quick one I thought was neat. More to come soon. I took over 2000 pictures during the two days I went so hopefully a few turn out well. :)
