Title: Masters of the Air/8th AF
Post by: mthrockmor on May 03, 2015, 10:40:15 PM
Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are working on a new HBO miniseries about the 8th AF in Europe called "Masters of the Air." I understand they plan to sink up to $500 million. This will be "Band of Brothers" if not better.

When this comes out AH needs to run all kinds of ads. I have no doubt it will be very expensive though anyone watching that series is 70% of the way into our world.

Anyone know details of this miniseries? AH plan to advertise during it?

boo

Wow thats a great Idea. Since a 30 second plug on Walking Dead costs $414,000, and then with productions costs, we will round it out to $420,000. So for just one 30 second spot Aces High would have to bring in 26,250 new subscribers at $16 a month just to break even. Oh what a fun furball that would be. :rofl

Aces High needs to update its old 2001 graphics and improve it's game play first.

I don't give a fig if it is on North Korean State Television.

What ever it is I'm getting it.  At least for the duration of the series.  If for no other reason that to show the media powers that is a profitable subject matter.

The worst thing that could happen is WWII fans give it the snub and they just say, "Hmmmm yeah the WWII stuff just doesn't sell."

How so?  It has more subscribers to its steaming service than HBO has for its own streaming service and cable channel.

This. I will get Apple just for this, although I can't imagine how they won't release it on DVD/Blu-ray.

They will, but you might have to wait another 2 years.

HBO's streaming service may be rather small, but it has around 140 million subscribers world-wide to its cable offerings.  Apple currently has less than 10 million subscribers (several times more than HBO's streaming service, but less than 10% of HBO's cable subscribers).

Had no idea about HBO streaming. I only knew about their cable.

Streaming is still very limited. More so with newer services like apple.
