As the time for the (12th?) Dayton Gathering approaches, it's time to get a head count of those planning on attending as well as get an idea of what the participants really want to do.
This years air show is June 20 and 21, 2015 at the Dayton International Airport.
At the moment there are no plans since we need player feedback to decide what the majority wants.
Basically the choices are:
1. Have the gathering at the campground which has mediocre internet at best but allows freedom of smoking, drinking, boom boom sticks, canoeing, etc.
2. Rent a hall that can offer internet and alcohol but will limit the other items mentioned above.
3. Talk Robin into allowing the gathering at SHawk's house, still limits some of the items above.

Move the gathering to Cleveland this year for the Air Show, Labor Day weekend in September. The performers are similar with the addition of a P-51, 2 T-51's and the Harrier. The show can also be viewed for free from the pier about a mile away. 4. I can fit 2 tents and the play house can sleep 4 unless we convert it to the gaming rig room. Spare bedroom can fit an air mattress since it only has a couch in it. There is a vacant lot across the street that I will look into using for the weekend. That would allow RV and tent options.

This sounds fun going to Ohio...I will see what my schedule looks like. I believe joker1 wants to go also. I will have to arrange something for us to drive there. Hope I make it so see all you AH players. :salute

Already set my schedule for the time of the Air Show in June. Making another cross country trip in Sept. thru Oct.

Rosie and I will be present for Dayton. I like the idea of Scotts again, Its a great spot for the gathering imo.

Agreed! I have that Nagant! Will have close to 1,000 rounds of 9MM to play with. Waiting to hear back from Tim. He had set up a range date for Saturday at 10:00am and some sort of Air Rides starting at 2:00pm. Waiting to see if this is a firm thing.

Let's just go shooting at my house at the public range at Stonewall, where you and I shot before.
We can do it either before or after the gathering, I know it's difficult for you as you're heading the opposite direction home, but no rentals, no fees and anyone is welcome to crash, we will make room.

Talked to Tim earlier today. He said that things were previously set up as stated but he will confirm before or shortly after he makes his move tomorrow.

I have set the date in stone, just need to work out the details, where to camp and what guns to bring, ect.
Rud, I intend to drive there so the vehicle part is not a problem. Would be nice to have someone to share the drive with though.

Negative. It's a private area but dealing with the owner can be difficult at best.

Dunno. I thought most everything was set. I guess the planning aspects are out of my hands since my health went down hill recently. I'm still planning on the Air Show dates with being there. I'm either coming to camp or to just grab and go. :devil

I enjoyed Scotts better as well than the campgrounds. We could set systems up there with greater internet access. That's up to Scott & Robin. As well as you Nef, I need to know so I can figure my packing options in the van for bringing 3 or 4 systems or not. I have to also pack the van for an upcoming gun show for the following week. I plan on Chili for Friday with some specially blended soft drinks.

Tim was thinking on having one in the southeast and I may be looking for one to do down here in Pensacola. Down here, we would have the Naval Aviation Museum, Air Force Armament Museum in Ft. Walton and Battleship Parkway in Mobile, lots of ranges. The logistics for down here would revolve around the Blues home schedule. Looking into that for next year for spring or fall.

Yeah, there is no cell service there either. But it sure is beautiful. Probably going to head down there this weekend if it stays dry. :grin:

I will be unable to attend this year due to a recent move to South Carolina. I have however secured 2 lanes at a local gunrange for 2 hours for you guys. It will be at Fox's Shooting loft. Doug has been nice enough to let you bring your own ammo provided that you DO NOT BRING RELOADED AMMO! I need some info on when you folks intend to go shooting, and if you folks want to do another group flying trip this year. Brian, please contact me at 937 715 2295 and i can network all of the appropriate information. I will miss seeing all of you. Hopefully next year ill be in attendance. I reccomend doing a group J3 flight this year. Cubs are a fraction of the price and the group could get 2 in the air at the same time. Please advise. Stay frosty and check 6. -Tim

No sir... even if i was gay i could do alot better. Not so much an issue. New job and 2 trips to ohio to move stuff down here i cant justify the expense of the 3rd trip.
