Title: 88 anti aircraft
Post by: ONTOS on May 13, 2015, 11:32:12 AM
The 88 is set at 5000 yds. If a plane is 7000yds, how close should the fuse, so to speak, be set. I know you have to lead the plane. I guess what I am asking,is what is the effective blast range.

I believe it had a spherical kill zone with a radius of about 30 ft.

I have seen a set of three B24s go down with one hit.

When in the 88, I do try long shots but my kill rate outside of 3k is small.

I use the 88 to clear a base cap.  They scatter pretty quickly when you start getting close.

That's totally awesome, something that would not be even remotely possible if you had chosen to fly a plane.

When i can't get  a plane off without being vulched, the 88 is my first choice.

Just as a check, you do know that you can change the preset range, yes?

So that's why my fingers keep touching the C and V keys without my permission.

I think the trick is to actually touch the right one at the right time.   :devil
