I'm looking for any info that might help me use the 8" guns effectively. I see guys shooting & hitting targets that i can't even see, so i know there are some fine points if any are willing to share. At this point I only zoom in and out to see, but that is problematic. I heard someone mention the other day something about "his bar showing something", not sure what that is. How do you bombard a target on an elevated platform? I don't even see what they're shooting at, let only hit anything with precision.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

do you know about: land mode and sea mode (shift Q or ctrl Q i think they are). once in those modes you can click on the map and guns will hit that spot. then you can adjust your aim with: WASD keys. as for hitting ships beyond visual range I still have no idea how guys do that.

Back again with another question. I went to the training area to try practicing, and I am at a loss. Are all the screens visible for access? I could only get on one screen, and the ship never went anywhere staying in the same sector. Am I missing a step or two?
-
In the training arena near the top of the map to the right of the LOGO is the "Navel Bombardment" area. Double click on the ship to launch from a gun there. If the ship is red (enemy), just switch countries (it doesn't effect the MA only here in training).
You can adjust the task groups course like in the main arena and have it run strait down the coast. You can then practice hitting the city and depots along the route.

Great, thanks.

From 18 miles, 32,000 yards, you can destroy town buildings. Go shift-q for land-mode. Bring up map; zoom-in on town until it is as large as possible.
Now, mow it as if it were a lawn; pick a pattern, and stick with it.

Fugitive, I took your advice to try and practice - but to no avail. I went to the training zone and looked for the "naval bombardment" section. I saw the " Basic training zone", with "naval gunnery" printed to the right of the logo, but do not see a ship anywhere that I can access. The only ship I see anywhere in the training area is in the "mini scenario zone". I tried it, set the course as suggested but all that happens is the ship just pivots in place and doesn't move toward shore. Still looking,

Use the "insert" and "delete" keys to zoom in on the map in the navel gunnery area of the map. There is a ship off the coast that you can use to practice there.

Turn off the horizon in the clipboard graphics settings. The distant smog effect disappears, and you can clearly see the silhouette of the ships in the distance.

Fugitive, still no luck - starting to sound like a broken record - sorry bout that. I saw your screen shot, went to the training area, zoomed in as much as possible and still no ship. ??? I could see them on your screen shot, but I don't see them.
