Title: Growing concern
Post by: NikonGuy on May 26, 2015, 09:50:16 AM
There is clear growing concern amongst the AH community in regard to the unethical game play of a few players.

What is AH doing about this?

I guess this will be locked too but as a COMMUNITY we would like to know if this problem is being dealt with?  You say this has to be dealt with privately but are you going to email every single one of us with an update of how these people are being handled?

It is really very simple.
If you have a specific complaint, send the evidence to us and we deal with every one sent to us.
We deal with every allegation (with film) that is sent to us.

But the real answer is that almost all of the allegations have no bases in in reality. I can not count the number of times allegations are sent to us with film, and there is a very simple explanation of what happened.

And please do not expect us to state all the things we do to detect cheating. Because stating them only helps those who wish to cheat defeat our detection.

We have banned people who want to claim they were simply testing if something was possible. But people who falsely propagate the accusations of cheating and go on a witch hunt, are worse for the game then the small number of people who actually have  cheated and been removed.

Also be very careful how you post on this topic. Because of the reasoning given above we have a very low tolerance for both cheating and false accusations of cheating.

Teh Interwebs is a mysterious place, filled with creatures terrible enough to frighten even a Frenchman.  If people had a better idea of how this all works, the cheating accusations would pretty much disappear.  Think of it this way, folks: objects in mirror are larger than they appear.

I hide in a burning hanger all the time. .sometimes it works most times it doesn't work cause there's only 3 hangars with eyes on the map room 2 vh and storch hanger and heavy fighters usually hits them right before troops run. .haven't done the sb or jeep to kill a driver of a tank thing. .but willing to test theory. .and jeep hiding in barn guy is easy enough to find  using the right tools irritating he is but it's his 15 so I just let him do his thing

I hid in a barn in a Wirbel one time, took potshots at the furball outside, even hit someone.

Does that count?

I don't get what the problem is with vehicles hiding in burning hangars, it seems completely within bounds, as far as "realism" the spawn hanger is often afire when the vehicles are up so..... I personally believe that half the battle is just ignoring what upsets me about game play. Not always successful I'll admit. Some people seem to focus too much on what they perceive as cheating or "dishonorable" but lifes too short and you'll end up convincing yourself the game is rigged against you and you won't have much fun, or maybe you will if you like complaining, I know I like a good rant.

But see, thats how YOU play the game. What if the next 20-30 people who join the game are the type that wants to run missions and battle for bases and that is taken away with these "tricks" people use. Why would these people continue to play and PAY?

Years ago you could take fuel down to 25% but this really took a lot of fighters out of the game and many players couldn't play and so they started to leave. HTC changed it and now people can fly the fighters they want.

Not everyone plays the game the same way. Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it isn't a bother. With the numbers we have now can little things like these "complains" be ignored and allowed to chase away more players?

Personally, it doesn't bother me much. I'm just playing devils advocate here. As long as I have one guy that wants to fight me in an airplane Im good. But what does this game have that war blunder and the other don't? A continuing war with the chance to "play" WWII pilot and fight those battles. Take that away with some guy giving away tank locations from a jeep parked on a hill, well then you just chased away all those players "looking for something better".

Pretty sure he just likes to make bases flash. Did the same thing in EW and MW.
