Late last week I started having VOX problems. It would cut out for long periods of time and randomly cut back in for a few seconds. During the cutout everyone could hear me, but I couldn't hear them or see them when they keyed up. I tried resetv. I relogged. I rebooted my pc. Nothing seems to have any effect. It's worked fine for years and no settings were changed on my end. No new drivers, nada.

First off, you haven't had Windows 8.1 "for years" so something has changed :neener:
Also, I think vox is one thing that goes when you have connection issues and with the conditions in texas weather wise it is surprising any of us can get a decent connection.
-
I has a similar situation a few weeks ago and I ran pingplot,I sent the plot to Skuzzy and he told me it was an ISP issue at my end.
I have 2 wireless routers and I had 1 disabled but it somehow became active and the 2 didnt play nice! I disabled the 1 router and power cycled my modem and routers and that seemed to fix things for awhile, then I got a notice from my ISP of some DSN attack, they did something on their end and it's been fine since.
You could try power cycling as I did and if that doesnt resolve the issue run pingplot and see what that tells you,if your like me and dont understand it you could send it to skuzzy and see what he says.
:salute

Actually, I've had this machine for over 2 years. I was an early victim of Win8. So nothing has changed. Thanks for your valuable input in solving my problem. I'm sure your years of tech support for Hitech are appreciated.

Didn't think of running pingplotter since my ping times were so good. Looks like there's a dead hop at the servers. Odd that it would affect me and not the rest of my squad/country.

Inbound data loss on voice is not uncommon if the router needs to be power cycled. Being a UDP connection, any type of error will cause that packet to be lost.
Or it could have been an Internet related issue. There were many last week, due to the weather.

I'm sorry, you must have lost your funny bone along with your good connection. Look around, I'm sure you'll find it. I wouldn't presume to tell you were to look for it.

IIRC, the 100% packet loss on the second-to-last hop is always there for everyone because that piece of hardware blocks all ICMP echo requests. It still lets the data through, but ignores ping requests.

Correct.

Still happening tonight. 100% packet loss not an issue. Solid ping time and stable connection. Don't believe this to be weather related since it's only happening to me and only in AH. I've posted my DxDiag and ping plotter. Can I get some help with this, please? Flying with no radio is no bueno.

If you are not hearing any radio at all, but still hearing other sounds, it can only be incoming UDP packets being lost or not routed by the router. Also try shutting down all other computers on your network. Also, power cycle the router. If those things do not restore incoming VOX, then it could be Internet related.
I have to run a trace route from the server to see if the packets are actually getting to your connection as the Ping Plot only shows the data path to the server, not from the server. I'll do that today.

I think it may have been working this morning. But there were 5 Bish online and most were Asian so hard to say. Not a lot of radio traffic.

Everything worked relatively well tonight. Had a few drop outs, but not nearly as bad as the previous few nights. No warping or anything like that. Just VOX.
