Hopefully they still will if PC agendas don't kill the program.

Recently 19 of the "best ARMY females" were allowed to start the program. All failed in the basic physical program with three being given the opportunity to try again. The SECNAV has already stated he wants women in BUDS becoming SEALS or else. Very few men can make it through BUDS, biologically, what kind of female would be able to do it in all honesty. One of the places the females had grave problems in the Rangers physical testing, the pull up.  Hanging dead still, then pull up static with no swinging for each pull up of the required number, even men fail at that point.

I hope they don't fire the current head of the program and replace him with a more political officer. The current head refuses to change anything to accommodate anyone. I don't care what mental gender, color, or alien species is out there killing our enemies. I just want the ones who can actually pass those tests and make it to the end of the full program. Anything less is not an ARMY Ranger, and the regular ARMY has roles for the washouts who are the best of the best for the regular ARMY.

Call me a pig (no pun intended Bustr :) ), but I'm insanely glad they did not lower the standards for the females.  I don't want them there, period.  Even if by some miracle some Amazon passed, she would never actual be a "real" Ranger serving with one of the Batts.  This all came about because female officers were complaining it was unfair that they were missing out on potential promotion points that the men who pass receive.  I understand their view, but letting them attend Ranger School was not the answer, no way, no how, in my eyes.  PC crap.  I came across the video on Youtube last night, and it got my head a'bobbin', so I thought I'd share. :aok

The Russians answer in WW2 was not to mix genders in special kinds of operations. But, use them for their respective strengths in combat. Still, that got a lot of lady snipers targeted more harshly by the Germans. Those lady officers won't have to face that reality while they are picking up their retirement checks and working as lobbyists for woman's issues in DC.

Reducing the standards of qualification for the extreme jobs expected of the Rangers will only get personnel hurt and killed. And swept under a carpet by the pentagon.

Do you hear anything about the Lady's Olympic Hockey team some years back that played a game against a state champion High School boys team and got their kesters whomped? chirp...chirp....chirp......

While I agree that the standards shouldn't be arbitrarily lowered to make it possible for female soldiers to pass, I've also read commentary BY ACTUAL RANGERS who state that the physical requirements they're required to pass don't in ANY way relate to their actual duties, and that the requirements are ALREADY arbitrary.

Do you really want to mess with something that has worked for a very long time?

The physical requirements are what they are for other reasons than they want physical super men who will be doing superman physical activities for a living. By definition all branches of the Military are full of them. BUDS is insane specifically to reveal one kind of person just like Marine snipers, Delta Force, and Green Beret.

The Rangers want the person who can succeed at those insane physical requirements, not the 29 who are the best of the best who didn't for whatever fraction less of a reason. The tests find them the anomalous human who only tests at that level has a chance of identifying. Those who passed will naturally not have a clue they are slightly different from those who didn't because of how close they are physically. The Rangers are betting their whole track record of success on that difference based on real combat history showing them who and how they want to test for.

A common trait amongst highly successful people, they have no clue how really good they are because they are always slightly doubting their abilities and keep polishing them. Very few will see any difference between themselves and the next guy, other than they spend more time focused on getting better. And that undefinable thing to them is just business as usual.

Once you make exceptions to how you find that special person to operate under such extreme conditions, you will quickly no longer have a special force. Why do you want to do that?

Well looks like the head of the Rangers is being ushered out of command because of un specified charges. I guess special aint no more.

Let's take what isn't broken and fix it. This is "cultural Marxism" where all cultures are equal regardless of...

Rome doesn't speak well of our future.

Delta Force and Rangers would not even associate with the 10th Mountain Division.  They made fun of them and considered them civilians with basic training.  That is, until the 10th Mountain Division had to come rescue both Delta and Rangers in Mogadishu.

It seems that all you do is drop turds in various threads then, when unable to reasonably substantiate your claims, move on to the next thread to repeat the process.

I see you are not disputing my point.  That seems to be about as close as you come to admitting anything.

Carry on.

When I joined the marines back in '89, some used to talk about how the marines do not train as hard as they used to.  they talked about how the new recruits were a bunch of pampered kids.

bustr, it is naive to think that rangers train today exactly the same way as they used to 40 or 50 years ago.

The head of the Rangers is being fired on bogus charges for not passing the first women who have ever entered the Ranger program. Of the 19, 3 have been allowed the opportunity to try again. Male applicants have a high failure rate in that same program by design. In 89 the Marines along with the rest of the US Military was becoming a government jobs program that some of it's members happened to shoot at people in other countries. The orchestrated decline didn't plan on Saddam Hussein or Osama bin Laden. Obviously it's back on track with the Rangers as the poster program. 18 months is a life time of mischief in the minds of those architects.

Ranger,

Why worry about it. Everyone who was there bled red, because they wore the red, white, and blue. How do you have an argument in that case. What would it be. I bled more red than you bled when I was there. My US Military group bled better than yours did. Mine made their guys bleed more red than yours did. What is the point of sharing any of that with those who have never been to that place? Most really don't want to know, and what can they possibly say that will be meaningful to you having never been there.

Only the troll will have any fun with this, while you will be arguing in good faith getting madder with each smearing of your words, which is the fun he wanted.

What you accomplished and experienced cannot be diminished. Arguing things like this on the internet in this manner, is for the mentally and emotionally deficient pimping for their next emotional drug fix. In real life, healthy people will not give them their fix. The Internet on the other hand, just say no to becoming their next drug fix.

Ain't very satisfying is it? That is what they rely on....... ;)
