Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin. Figured I might as well do a Liberator to go with my earlier 492nd BG Mossie skin.

In 1944 the USAAF formed the 801st Provisional Bomb Group with the 36th BS and 406th BS, both flying B-24s. The Group's role was not bombing though, it was used to drop agents and supplies for the OSS at night over occupied Europe. So its Liberators were painted gloss black and had their lower turrets removed to make way for a para drop hatch. In August the Group was expanded from two to four squadrons and became the 492nd Bomb Group. This aircraft called "Blonde Bomber" was part of the 892nd BG's 456th BS.

they already did it....then did away with it.......besides nite time there was also weather as well....thats gone too.

Here a little bit more about the 801st BG according to the 8th AAF site:
The first group to use Harrington was the 801st Bombardment Group (Provisional), arriving from RAF Alconbury on 25 March 1944. The 801st Bomb Group became best known as the Carpetbaggers. The mission of the Carpetbaggers was to fly Special Operations missions which entailed delivering supplies to resistance groups in enemy occupied countries.

In August 1944, the 801st Bombardment Group was absorbed by the 492d Bombardment Group (Heavy). The 492d was a hard luck B-24 group which had lost 52 aircraft to enemy action in only 89 days, suffering 588 men killed or missing. Rather than try to rebuild the shattered group, the group was stood down and the surviving members were reassigned to other units in theater. When assigned to Harrington, the 801st Bombardment Group (Provisional) was inactivated in a name-only manner. Headquarters and the ground echelon of the 801st were stood up as the 492nd.
