Title: Target for Today - December 31st, 1943 - FINAL SCORES
Post by: Nefarious on June 10, 2015, 06:18:05 PM
Greetings, Although it has been only a week and a half, it seems like an eternity since the event. Which in itself seemed like an eternity that day.

The scores took a little longer than I expected, real life hit me a week right before the scenario and has not stopped since.

I want to thank everyone that helped and participated on so many levels. Let's do it again sometime :)

As per the event scoring system:

Quote
Victory Conditions

Victory will be decided by a formula of scoring categories. Both sides will have goals for each phase and these goals will be given a number value. These numbers will then be totaled at the end of the event to determine who won the event.

Fighter Victories – 1 Point will be given for every 100 aerial fighter victories for both sides.

Bomber Victories – 1 Point will be given for every 50 aerial bomber (B-17G, B-24J, B-26B, B-25, Boston III and Mosquito Mk VI) victories for the Axis.

Ground Objects – 1 Point will be given for every 100 Objects destroyed by the Allies or Defended by the Axis. Objects are totaled up at every objective, any object not destroyed at that objective within that phase is considered defended by the Axis.

Losses – 1 Point will be deducted for every 100 aircraft lost. A loss is anything other than a successful landing. Returning your aircraft successfully to base is key to victory.

When it is all said and done and the final plane lands, the Logs will be uploaded immediately for viewing and the CMs will begin a review of the raw logs. We anticipate the upload will take some time due to the amount of data from a 12+ hour event. The logs will then be analyzed for scoring and the results will be posted after a thorough review.

Of course, scores are only one part of the scenario experience, and rarely seem to reflect the fun and overall immersion in Aces High Scenarios. The idea of any scenario is to discover the history, feel the action and drama of the battle, and to experience the entire time and era as much as possible. Scoring is a necessary process to determine a winner and we have tried to create the fairest possible solution for the outcome of the scenario.

Nef, thank you for spearheading a fantastic Scenario.  I enjoyed the event very much, and there were so many unique and distinct elements of this event that I intend to make this format an annual scenario event.  Well Done.

Thank you Swoop and KCDitto for taking the helm on such a gamble.  This one was difficult from the start, 12 hours, I mean, really, that was just nuts.  We were trying to figure out how to rotate leadership between phases and were incredibly impressed by the leadership team and so many of the players staying for the full 12 hours.  What you all did as participants make what we do worth every minute put into building these things.

Now, looking at the numbers, all I can say is if the Axis team, which pretty much are the core of any Axis V Allied event we have, if that team ever brings numbers to the table, the Allies are HOSED.  This was supposed to be close if the numbers were in line, I am stunned (not surprised) that with such a difference in sides the Axis took the Air to Air element.  Had we gotten some more of those bombers before they dropped it might well have been a vastly different game.  The Allies played well but I am so proud to have been part of the Axis team, what a battle, what a fight.  I walked away numb for days after that.

Nice job everyone.  Let's get our boys and girls primed and ready for the next one.

Congratulations Allied on the victory.  I know it was hard fought and earned at a brutal cost.

Wow we squeaked that one through! That was a fantastic scenario and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.

The way the axis defenders were dropping our bombers, I expected to see the allies in the loss column.
Well run, well put together, well fought on both sides, and I am looking forward to another 12 hour event, although I may be divorced prior to the actual running.  :D

I flew the last four hours and contributed zero to the Axis; 1 kill, two deaths and I think the bomber I killed had already dropped.  So, if you're looking for a really mediocre pilot in the next scenario who can step up and contribute nothing I'm your man.

I credit you for atleast 5 or 6 of the geschwader's kills! If you weren't looking in the tower, we wouldn't have known they were there.

Again, my apologies for not getting to you when you first came on vox! It literally was the worst timing! :lol

You may "think" you contributed zero, but as a bomber pilot, that one more red dot caused us a lot of grief. Just being behind us may have caused someone to miss a target, tied up an escort who while busy killing you let another member of the axis get in on us. Everyone who participated contributed much more than what he or she may see on the surface. While I didn't want you behind me, or anywhere around me, I am glad you were able to participate, and look forward to meeting you in the unfriendly skies next scenario.  :salute
