So has anyone ever messed with the Long War Mod for XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within?
I recently stumbled onto the Long War Mod for XCOM: Enemy Within and it adds quite a bit more to XCOM. Some of the Second Wave options that are added really seem to add more, for lack of a better word, "zest" to XCOM. Vanilla is awesome, but holy kitten does Long War add a BUNCH. One of the mods that caught my eye, aside from Commander's Choice, was Red Fog. While wounded or damaged, unit suffers an aim/mobility penalty. Applies to aliens as well. There is a Red Fog mod change, where it uses a Gaussian function over the liner function that is default, IE: the more injured/damaged, the worse the aim/mobility penalty gets. Another is Wear and Tear, which means you will eventually have to repair your stuff. The list is pretty sizable.
An already awesome game, now with 100% more awesome! :aok

I saw that mod in the list, but haven't tried it yet. It's been a while since I played. It me be time to play again.

It almost turns XCOM into a whole new game with the changes and numerous additions that have been made. They have a Dynamic option for Long War which shortens it but, it will still be like 2x longer than Vanilla from what I gathered. I haven't messed with the Dynamic War option yet. Long War isn't just a name, it's literal. lol

Oookaaaayyyy. Long War is NOT forgiving. I knew it was hard, but damn. Vanilla Impossible is a breeze compared to Long War NORMAL. :noid
