The death count in that video is well over 30.

I doubt that. There are lots of places to hide on those decks. The helos crashes may be the worst. Those things are just not meant to fly.

If you want to test your in-game CV landing skills, try what I used to teach in the TA...
Take and F4U-1D. Full fuel, 2 1k bombs or drop tanks and rockets.
You must take off from the deck spawn (no backing up).
Take off, leave the gear down. Turn left and fly down the CV's port side. Drop your hook and turn into the pattern. You are flying a "D" shaped pattern. Do not drop any external stores. Land safely. As you get comfortable doing this, you can tighten up the pattern.
Tips: Always use full flaps and WEP....
If you can do this time and time again without screwing up, you're as good as it gets in CV ops.
Make it harder? Sure. Offline, do the same with an FW 190F and/or a P-47D-40. Maximum load... You'll have to stop using the brakes, so don't land too long....

Make it harder by making the CV do a constant figure 8. And ... it can be done. :D

Excellent advice!
