I just did the Panther, there is a thread for it called "11th Panzer Division Panther" a few posts down. My interpretation of the photos of this tank differ a bit from the profile artist's.

I'd need to see photos of the Tiger before I'd consider doing it. I hate basing a skin on just a profile as I would often end up just copying some other artist's mistakes.

I know you did and it is amazing! I use it all the time now. I really like this pather too because its is much more green and would fit very will in AH landscapes. All the german paint schemes stick out like a sore thumb in AH compared to rus and US GVs. So ive been looking for historical paint schemes that would combat this issue.

I will find you more photos of the tiger as well.
<S> I love your work Sir

Problem with a lot of these profiles they are wrong as in the case with the numbers on the profile. No light coloured edges on them. Also no cross on the hull.

I've looked before at doing a similar scheme to that on the Panther. The problem is that the AH Panther's left and right armour skirts are mirrored, so both are painted from a single area on the bmp. This means there is no way to get the stripes angled forward on one skirt and rearwards on the other, the stripes would be either both angled forward or both backwards.

my apologies Greebo; i cant believe one that i made a request for the same skin as you just made (which is why its the 1 i use all the time now). I got so hung up on looking for a historical skin that would be useful as a great german camo scheme that i actully posted the one you just made <S> hat FN off man lol.  I really do like the all green late war with brown doodles on the skirts.

The  issue of the scheme looking weird with the stripes suddenly taking a 60 degree bend on one of the skirts isn't the only one. Another problem is all the mirrored items on the top of the hull. For example all 10 or so of the periscopes are painted from the same part on the bmp, so they all have to be the same colour as each other on the skin. Lots of little handles and brackets have the same issue to a lesser extent. On typical German random splodge type camo schemes I can get round this by just adjusting the camo on the hull to fit all this mirroring, but there's no way I can do this on such a geometric scheme. It would be impossible to get the stripes running diagonally across the hull to both meet the stripes at the top edges of both skirts and also blend seamlessly with all the mirrored parts on it. Sorry but this scheme just won't work on the AH Panther.

I do have some good news for you though. I've found a photo of an unusual Tiger I scheme that I'm going to skin next.

Do you think this is something that will be different in AH3?
Also, that's great I can't wait to see your tiger skin (you do great work sir <S>), I love to see the photo you found too.

The AH Panther's mirroring issues could only be fixed if HTC were to remodel it and I can't see that happening in the foreseeable future.

I've finished and submitted the Tiger already. Here's a link to its BBS thread:-  s.Pz.Abt. 504 Tiger I (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,373935.0.html). In the thread there is a link to the photos I used.

The skins production line will be suspended for a while as I'm busy revising the CraterMA terrain for the new version.
