Title: Navy Panther & other footage...
Post by: Groth on July 13, 2015, 06:20:41 PM
Found this 1952 relic on Youtube with several Navy Panthers depicted, one brief shot at 22:15ish shows one in flight w/o wingtip tanks...plots corney bordering on schizo..but the action footage was good. Some was ww2 vintage. Especially liked the 'big screen' Admiral TV in the bar.... [urlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg8a9UMqSzY][/url] JGroth

By the way, much of the Navy fighter footage was of the straight wing McDonnell F2H Banshee.

I made my kids watch this when they were growing up (you could get it on VHS...who knows why?). Younger folks wouldn't really understand the commie phobia of those times.
Thanks for finding it on youtube. I've sort of grown fond of the film.
