I have a new Alienware. has Windows 8.1 as O/S
AH Films save but I cannot run them. It prompts to run by searching for an App.
Something is off. When I got the new system, I downloaded the entire game so it is a fresh install.
Any idea what I need to do to get AH films up and running? I am a software moron!!! Don't know what program to select to open the films. Or how to even look.
Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you double click an AH film and get a message saying there's no program or app for that. If so, don't worry, the fix is easy.
In Windows versions before 8 the procedure would have been: Right click an AH film. Any film will do for fixing them all. Click "Open With", from the next menu click "Choose default program". Navigate to "C:\HiTech Creations\Aces High\ahfilm.exe". Make note of a check box saying "Always open with this program" or something like that.
In 8.1, even double clicking a file without a known connection to a program would get you to the prompt for an app. Scroll down until you find "Look for an app on this PC". That should let you navigate to the folder mentioned above.
An illustrated tutorial can be found here: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/7811-open-change-default-program-windows-8-a.html (http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/7811-open-change-default-program-windows-8-a.html), hopefully they haven't changed it in 8.1...

In Windows 8 you can't just right-click the desktop and create a new shortcut/association?

After seeing settings change location update after update I can't give any exact advice concerning Windows 8. Too many variables...

Thanks all! I'll look at it when I get home tonight and follow up. Appreciate your time (as always).
