Title: A good movie
Post by: FLOOB on July 20, 2015, 03:12:37 PM
Interstellar, a three hour film in which the antagonist is time. If you haven't already I recommend watching it, if you have the time.

I've seen it. Great movie. Watch Armageddon with Bruce Willis, that's a good movie also.

I rank Interstellar among my top 10 favorites of all time. Among others in my top 10 are Jurassic Park, The Last Samurai, Kingdom of Heaven, Life as We Know It, Saving Private Ryan, and Forest Gump. I'd name more but don't want to bore ya'll with the details.

Armageddon?? gtfo!

All them movies you guys listed are caca compared to interstellar. I'm not saying it was Space Oddyssey good, but it was pretty damn good.

Just a movie to stimulate popcorn sales, nothing impressive, lack of imagination and substance, dry of philosophical juice ;  many episodes from endless Star Trek are more interesting and I don't like Matthew McConaughey  , this guy has some bad negative aura always playing too constipated;
 Prometheus is by far my favorite movie, to understand it i had to read some Greek mythology , evolution mysticism and religious creationism conspiracy; i watched 4-5 times and always found something new, because the reptilian  illuminati  are dumping brain damaging chemical in my water.

Sunshine is another good pseudo-scientific sci-fi movie. And of course Gravity.

Interstellar reminded me of the typical Crichton novel in a way. A Crichton novel begins with interesting and provocative plausibilities and then goes off the rails into fantasy land about one quarter or one third the way through. Interstellar went a long way beyond a Crichton story would before going into fantasy land.

Prometheus is by far my favorite movie

Overall, I found Prometheus to be disappointing.

Just finished watching Tears of the Sun. Had forgotten how good this underrated movie is. Can make even the manliest of men weep... And such a fantastic score by Hans Zimmer.
