My guess would be they are a different resolution in the Alpha.   Higher resolution means smaller pixels.   I had the same problem with some custom sights from Microsoft Combat Flight Simulators 1 and 2 when I tried to migrate them to AH.  They are there, but they are thin and small.  If Hi-tech will tell us the format and size specs for sights, we might be able to fix our custom ones to be useable in the game.  ;)

Old gunsights should work just fine.

If you want your old ones instead of copying them, rename sights folder in the alpha, then copy the entire sights folder at one time.

There may be some .mil files interfering with you.

May I have a copy of your custom gunsight as a download?

What have you set your custom FOV to?

I would like to see if I can duplicate your problem. Then try and fix it for you if the problem is not that you need to pull the alpha slider to the right to brighten your reticle. The new lighting effects from the new graphics engine made all of my AH2 gunsights look fat and out of proportion. I ended up rebuilding the whole package to the new graphics.

Also check your brightness setting on the sight, the default has changed.

Here is what I see with the first time install default alpha for the Yak3 gunsight display area. Oh I can make that cyan 100Mil and dot cleaner if you like. Looks like something I posted about 6-7 months ago for the closed alpha.

Here use this. Move the alpha slider to the right so it is under the right hand edge of the preview window.

maybe im getting old but when i used the wirlb  the gunsight seems very translucent. with the background . i know my eyes are not what they use to be is there a way to make the sight more opaque.

Go into the gunsight app. Pull up the wirble. Push it's slider all the way to the right. Also use zoom, this graphics engine seems to need a bit.

All of the wirble views except Num_8, push them all the way up with Page UP and F10. The Num_8 push it up so their is a gap under the bottom of the verticle line maybe 1\4-1\3 of the glass. Then use a bit of zoom and toggle in and out of it when you shoot.

If your FOV is past 90, yeah you will not be able to see much of those white lines. I found the manual for that gunsight only this year and the reticle is thin white lines.

The range markers are there because a spotter would be dialing in the range while an analog fire control director moved the vertical line to give you your lead. That is part of the reason for those 10Mil dot.

Ranges I calibrated to for the wirbel:

1 - 1000yds
Small tick - 1200 yards
.5 - 1500yds
.7 - 1700yds or maximum range for that round in the game.

The Ostwind is setup the same except maximum game range is 2700yds.
