Title: Another airplane part purchased at auction... (Rolls Royce!)
Post by: G0ALY on July 25, 2015, 03:45:52 PM
I’ve been buying old airplane parts to hang in my garage.  I came home from an estate sale with the center item today.  It’s the valve cover from a Rolls Royce Griffon engine.

After the sale, I was told that this cover came from an engine that was in one of the “Miss Budweiser” hydroplane racing boats.

I already made one!
The Rolls Royce valve cover is now where the cane was hanging in the bottom of this photo. I used Stearman tail wheels in the light fixtures...

And made a table from this T-6 wheel.

There are several other neat parts in the garage that are not in the photos, including the Sikorsky SeaKing horizontal stabilizer, and 2 DC3 cowlings that my daughter painted nose art on.

CHEERS!

As I never like chrome, I always drool on the patina of a reasonably maintained aged valve cover.
