For those of you with ctd when spawning airplanes.
Can you check if either of the 2 files exists?
\windows\syswow64\D3DCompiler_43.dll
And
\Windows\system32\d3dcompiler_43.dll
I believe your direct x is out of date And I missed shipping the compiled version of the pelxi glass shader.

If you do not run the full DX installer download from Microsoft, for Win7 64bit at least, this file will only exist in:
C:\Windows\system32
Recently I made a change to my bios which resulted in the wiping out of my boot sector and had to perform a new install of Win7. And I CTD in alpha70 trying to launch aircraft. I downloaded and installed the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) .
Now the file in question is located in both:
C:\Windows\system32
C:\Windows\sysWoW64
The Aircraft spawning CTD no longer happens.
Thank you Hitech.

Yep, they're both missing on my machine. I can't do anything about it atm but unless you hear otherwise, I believe that will fix me up. Typical USER ERROR LOL.
Thanks!

I show both but as _47dll instead of _43dll. I am using W10 if that makes any diff.

Neither one exist on my system.
Did as Bustr said, downloaded DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) . I can fly planes now !! :x

Couldn't get it to install. Oh well. It keeps asking for a path and I can't get it to accept one.
Edited to add: I reverted to W7, went to the Microsoft download site (knew I had the right one when they tried to get me to add the Bing bar with the SysX bit), downloaded, installed and voila, it now works. Yay!

Yeah, I read that to mean it wants to install a SDK. I installed a manual update, KB2670838, that MS said would install the D3D files. If it did, I can't find them and wonder what the thing really installed.
I use Firefox and Thunderbird. I found both versions of the 3D3 on my HD by doing a search. I copied both _43 and _47 into my C:\Windows\sysWoW64 (64 bit) folder, they do work for my 64bit machine in sysWoW64. They didn't work in my System32 folder.
I hope that helps some people.

While I can fly planes again, I did notice some minor stutter at low alt and details enabled. Turned Details off and stutter goes away. :headscratch:

Installed the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) as bustr suggested. Now no more ctd when launching planes. :rock
