I think that while he is maintaining a positive and engaging public face/presence, I think that we all might be able to sense what the diagnosis really means.
Whatever you may have thought about the 39th President of the United States, (or still do), and my guess is that within this community there are more emotive than analytic perspectives about him, I hope that you can spare a few moments in your day to wish him and his family peace and strength through this difficult time.
For me, I was always impressed how he actually got into and then through Admiral Hyman Rickover’s nuclear navy. (Rickover is considered the father of the US nuclear navy, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyman_G._Rickover and http://www.pbs.org/program/rickover-birth-nuclear-power/).
