Title: Practical Application of the Nuke in AH
Post by: APDrone on August 21, 2015, 05:01:50 PM
Ok.. I'm sure the title is probably inciting a bunch of groans and 'here we go again.. '

Hear me out..

I think we'd all agree that the destructive power of a nuke would be a distraction for normal gameplay.   However, suppose it were used as merely eye-candy for the finale of a map?

After the war is won there is a 5 minute break before the map resets and the next war commences.

What say, during this time, the person who dropped the last troop that won the war was given the opportunity to airspawn a B29 outfitted with a nuke over their choice of enemy HQ ( or some other strat ) and effectively remove it from the map.  Awarding damage points might be in order, as a little extra bonus, and, also, broadcasting the explosion to each tower in the winners country.

And, of course, the bomb must be named 'Fat Lady'..

Not a terrible idea.

I'll plus 1 it if I get to air spawn a free 163 to kill the B-29.  :airplane:

When the war is won, why not have a Can-Can line of sheep dancing across our screens until the map changes?

I love it bustr and when the nuke is dropped they dive into a bombshelter that has deflector shields and continue to dance for us.

Then My A-Wing airspawns and I kill the B29 and Santa  :x

It would only take about a week and all the air spawns would be camped by 163s.

When SPI released "Red Star / White Star", a game of tactical armored combat in Europe, the rules included something like this:

"To simulate the effect of tactical nuclear weapons, douse the game map with lighter fluid and toss a lit match at it."

Maybe we could have a nuke button that turns the CPU fan off.   :devil

*snicker*

I'm still looking for a special ASCII character that sends 110 volts to the keyboard "home" keys.  :devil
