Title: CH Stick and Throttle losing calibration.
Post by: JunkyII on September 02, 2015, 11:22:39 AM
I have a powered hub and calibrate both controllers in and outside of the game. Have had them for 4-5 years...is it just about that time to get a new rig or is there something I'm missing?

The power source for the hub may suffer from aging, resulting the power coming mostly from the USB instead of the wall outlet. A new hub would be an inexpensive way to start.

Makes sense, I'll look into a new one...appreciate it.

I don't know what kind of environment you live in so don't take this the wrong way, but the pots may be filthy. Taking the bottom off the stick base and blasting it out with a good cleaner (airisol type) could get it to settle down as well.

Heres one from Wally World.

This is the one I have used for years at work. Use canned air to blow the dust out of the base of your stick, then this stuff fired right in the pots. Move the stick around and hit it again. If the base is full of a lot of dust, hit those pots a bunch of times.

While you have the CH base open, check the contacts on the potentiometers and make sure that the contacts are clean.  Dirty contacts can cause a loss of calibration and spiking.
