Title: Google chrome
Post by: ML52 on September 05, 2015, 03:39:39 PM
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes. I've been using google chrome as my browser for over a year but yesterday it stopped working. I've allowed it past my firewall, uninstalled it three times but it still won't work any suggestions?

Few things we must know...

1) Operating System
2) Anti-virus
3) When was the last time you did a malware check?

Have you tried running Chrome as an "Administrator" by right clicking on the icon and selecting "Run As Administrator"?

except the malware, under options you have a reset under advanced settings, that should take away those chrome goblins running in it.

Although you have uninstalled it three times, do a reset as Save suggested. There may be a misbehaving setting saved which will re-activate at the reinstall.

Also, there's a valid point in Lizard's post. If one browser works and another doesn't, it's in the settings. If neither works, it's somewhere in the Internet or network settings. Since Chrome uses the Windows' (Internet Explorer) settings, resetting them is also recommendable. You'll find it in the Control Panel-> Internet Options. On the last tab on the right there's a Reset button in the bottom right corner.

I'm using windows 7 and comodo is my firewall. I tried the reset and still chrome is not working. I'm not sure what other settings to try changing. I've also tried to get comodo to allow chrome.
