Been a mix of clouds and clear, but clear sky right now just in time to see it start

When I was kid, In northern Transylvania the older people taught me not to look direct at eclipse , only the reflection in a barrel of water it's bad omen, negative energy risk insanity, blindness, or turned into a werewolf. :noid

Anyone notice if the Moon was a bit further away than normal?
Depends how you look, atmosphere is acting like a lens, but was closer, strong tide caught people on the beach in UK last night ; was at perigree( closest distance to Earth) sept 27/28, they call it supermoon;http://www.basicastro.com/apogee-perigee-2015.html

"Moon was closer to earth than normal which led to higher tides around the coast of Britain and flood alerts"

Jeep,great shots! :aok
Thanks, hard to get really good ones with my camera, nikon coolpix p80. Manual focus not great, and hard for it to auto or field focus. Had the iso at 64, the shots as it eclipsed came out much better than I expected. Ciuld not get a good focus field for the last fully eclipsed shot. The last little piece never quite went away leaving the bright spot at the bottom edge.
