About 2 B-17G making a forced landing in S Sweden on the 7th of October 1944.

A total of 142 American and 59 British (mostly bombers) aircrafts landed in Sweden during the war after being damaged over Germany.

Well sort of. His father was a Swedish emigrant, mother from Ireland.
Very OT: The "real" John H Miller (from saving private ryan) was also a Swedish American, Capt Ralph Goranson.
