Title: You Will Think the Right Thoughts.
Post by: bustr on October 15, 2015, 06:01:52 PM
Funny how the test group for this was only Christians. But, now they kind of think the right thoughts by implication of the article, at least those from this test group.

Wonder if it can be used for the reverse effect or if this is only temporary? If it's permanent, a cheap electronic lobotomy that could be sanctioned by the state for those they deem unacceptable over their un-secular beliefs. And possibly the cure-all to the recent outbreak of mass murdering sociopaths in the USA. Now all those young restless boys in grade school on Riddlin can get a brain wipe so they never grow up to become mass murderers. Or all of those bible thumping, gun clinging, racist, homophobic, illegal alien phobic, global warming denying wrong thinkers in the USA. You could even en masse "wave field" people in crowds without them knowing it for a bit of an effect. Just short of frying their smart phones. Who knows, might even trigger them to change the party they vote for once their brains get adjusted to think right. Wonder what happens when this is applied to people who think right by the article's implied definitions?

Kind of a short cut cheat code for modern life to get around leaving people alone with their personal beliefs and values. It's the implications of needing this thing to counter people who don't think the right thoughts implied by the article. Didn't we liberate places in Germany 70 years ago over this kind of evil?

That looks like Ryan Reynolds in the lobotomy chair.  Maybe they'll make him forget about that crappy Green Latern movie he made.

The holy grail of Sociology and Psychiatry from the Liberal perspective is to be able to prove religion is a mental illness or a simple projection of the brain attempting to validate itself. The majority of sociologists and psychiatrists don't vote conservative or attend church here in the west. On the other hand they won't mention an MRI study of none religious self identified Liberal people performed in England about 10 years ago which had a single common factor. The area of the brain that functions for religiosity and controls identification of right\wrong and empathy\compassion towards others. Was underdeveloped in self identified Liberals.

This study is kind of like NAMBLA being asked as authorities on the subject to perform a study on the benefits of their addiction for children.

Here more sources to the same study that are reputable.

Even if it would work the arguments against it outweights the arguments in favour of it.

You do realize you're saying that liberals hate religion, right, despite a majority of liberals identifying as Christians?

I'm sorry, but you are literally that tinfoil hat guy that thinks that the government is trying to liquefy his brains to keep him quiet about their secret war being fought against Super Bears.

You may perhaps know something about airplanes, but that's quite clearly the extent of your expertise. Or even competency.

Now all those young restless boys in grade school on Riddlin can get a brain wipe so they never grow up to become mass murderers.

Ritalin (note the spelling) has been linked to cocaine and other illicit drug use later in life and are not linked independently to mass murder. The biggest correlation between all the mass murders committed by adolescents is other much more severe mental illness (like chronic depression), particularly when SSRIs have been used indiscriminately.

This thread is going to get locked, but I wanted to clear the record before it does.

edit: In addition the medical community have been changing thought patterns through the applied use of stimulation since the early 20th century.

Its about the dose, anything can kill you if the amount is "right". even drinking water can be lethal...

:rofl you should write for a magazine or a book!
I doubt this device is going to be used, at least are testing it , what about our fluoridated water?
Every word on this BB is the result of a biochemical process in poster's brain and I'm sensing high dose of fluoride above;  :)
I'm assuming you live somewhere in the darker area of the map below and .....the drink you may have on the desk now is made with brainwashing fluoridated water ; was used by Nazis in concentration camps and Stalin in Gulags; We are made from water 70%, why do people drink Sodium fluoride with such a confidence ?
It's classified toxic, hazmat, if I pull it in my truck I need hazmat training to handle it, to placard the trailer, spill contingency planning, stay away from cities and follow hazmat route, and .....people make baby formula and drink with such a confidence without asking questions?  :(

You would need to apply sound wave therapy to increase feelings of euphoria and religiosity. Directed magnetic waves depress that part of the brain. I'm not sure if crabby is that good of a salesman to do much more than get attendees to his Kill Crabby DA sessions.

One of the scientists I believe the Japanese American who performed the original experiment in England has been working with studies to determine the localized effects of cell phone transmitters and local fields on brain activity. Found those in his listed published works. Wonder if he started seeing something in those studies which prompted this experiment? I doubt it matters how the EM waves are generated, only the intensity and loci of application to verify findings from the other studies. Some people hold the phone to their left ear some to their right.

Then you have to wonder why the lead scientists being Americans had to conduct the experiment in England rather than at their home base university in SoCal where all of the cell phone studies were conducted. Maybe Medical legal prohibitions on applying microwaves to peoples heads at the levels they needed to verify their theory...

You may perhaps know something about airplanes,...

Bustr also seems to have a pretty good handle on historical battles and things of that sort.

I do think though it is only fair and proper to point out that his cooking suggestions are usually something to consider (I for one have determined that his suggestion to bake pizzas at 385 works especially well when you are using high moisture toppings like green peppers etc.).

Also I appreciate his sage like knowledge of all things Aces High.  He seems to have a good historical memory going back to some mysterious mythical early days when, as it is sometimes quietly whispered to others in close company, when there was no ENY. A bit like stumbling on to the Dead Sea Scrolls!

And you have to acknowledge that he is a pretty good writer.  While his content is sometimes a bit off (in my opinion), you can usually (but not always) say at least that it was written well.

As for his tin hat stuff, yep I know what you mean.  I, however, have come to view it as a kind of public service of sorts.  I think that it illustrates to our colleagues overseas what sane people have to put up with if they choose to live in the US. And I say all this in the open because I believe that Bustr doesn’t consider his views illogical, incorrect or incoherent.  I think that he is proud of his posts and stands behind them.  (And I hope and expect him to  continue with his posts).  In fact I am sure that he and others view themselves as the sane ones while I and others are the ones with some sort of a dunce hat on.

On another issue, and here I wish to be EXPLICITLY CLEAR that I am not thinking about anyone in particular, sometimes an ugliness surfaces in people’s posts.  To me whenever course language is used, (by some “cleverish” profanity filter defeating word construction) it almost always is a turn off. I wonder if authors realize that their use of such imagery mostly weakens their arguments.

I am not against a well thought out (or just thought out) poke at someone or something.  I say just assume that there are young children reading your words.  Would you use this language in the presence of a young kid?  The test could be ‘As long as it does not frighten the horses or scare the children’, it should be OK.

(And having just said that, I am wondering how many times I have actually failed by that standard?  More than I would like to admit to I am sure.)

At the end of the day I am here to have fun.

<S> to all

I did not really live in the US until I was about 13. I was born in French Morocco on a US Nuclear Bomber base. As for the authors of this study, I just connected dots based on their body of work. Microwaves applied directly to the brain in the US at least is considered dangerous and not allowed medical therapy. As for the radio wave transmitters in cell phones, the jury is still out on long term effects of intensive daily use taking place world wide. There has not been a large scale self administered phenomenon of this kind before on it's short but massive growth. From that large body of work by one of the authors on the effects of cell phones on humans, it is highly possible he saw a pattern emerging.

If the microwave study results are an indicator, cell phone use could be slowing devolving through self application peoples sense of compassion and caring about right and wrong towards others with out some strong influence to reinforce it. They did target a specific region of the brain in the study. Other studies would indicate openness towards others not your group, which was another result of the microwave application, in the long run is the beginning of the end to your group's self identity and reproductive future.
