Was not able to set the time using /.time 301

Must be doing something wrong

Got it.  it is with a space between 3 the 0 and the 1

My opinion.  A bit too big stars and planets.  The objects are too bright for an average sky brightness from sea level up.

Still doggone cool.

Stars look great.   :aok

With FOV at 112 the brighter stars seem too big. When I zoom in they look better.

after the downloading off the auto download update.  went to offline practice, after loading im in tower, red planes on map move from south england shore to my airfield, i can hear planes. the mouse and game freezes, the second time through this process i hit the windows key and nothing happens besides a separate mouse icon shows up only with the working circle icon, yadda yadda, a total freeze.  task manager would not show through a now white aces high window.  bottom line, had to power off with the power button through two trys.  freezes after planes move on the map, i can hear planes through the lock.

 :salute

35 seconds before they go home for the weekend i report a freeze bug  dam im good.

The star patterns match really well, but the Earth doesn't appear to rotate at night and the star positions are stuck in Dallas, January, 3:00 AM no matter what time I select.

Also, as others have pointed out, the stars are too large and they look weird because they are ellipses.  Real stars are just single points of light (I'm not sure even the most powerful space telescopes can resolve the disk of any star except Sol) but planetarium programs generally make bright stars both brighter (intensity) and bigger in diameter (to simulate bloom on film or in a CCD).  They should stay circular though.

So... are you going to add a "Stellar Navigation" achievement?  ;)

What!!!!! Those aren't planets......

Oh! and that was a P51 not a tie fighter I took the picture from.....no wonder R2D2 didn't chirp sweet nothings in my head set. You should try chasing the drones at 3am....heheheeh.

Love the stars, but the larger ones seem too elliptical.  As far as the number of stars in the sky, I would think the environment in viewing them would have to be considered.   Looking at the stars around large cities providing ambient light, you tend to see the more predominate stars like the big dipper, etc..  In the desert or ocean away from civilization, you see so many more stars, some brighter and some fainter.  Flying at night, in a WWII bird above the clouds would be similar to being out in the desert or open ocean with very little ambient light from a large city.  The predominate stars could be slightly smaller and round in shape.

Judging from Bustr's ss, the elliptical shapes are caused by POV changed from default.  I would imagine as was reported a zoom view would cure that mostly (especially those directly ahead.

So chasing drones at 3am I happed to spy the big dipper. Lined up the appropriate stars and aimed my gunsight at the bright light they pointed to. Derned if my compass didn't show "N".

Try this:

.time 3 0 1000

Or try:
6 50 0

then

18 50 0

Wow.....

.time hour minute time speed (0 is normal time)

The north star is the tail of the little dipper.  The big dipper scoops the little dipper.  The "w" is opposite the big dipper, pining the little dipper.

I'm pretty sure 1 is normal time. Your "time speed" is, I think, "time acceleration". A value of zero would stop the clock and freeze it at whatever time you set.

I have three 1920 x 1080 screens running under NVidia Surround at 5760 x 1080. The stars are not dots, but ellipsoid blobs. The side-to-side dimension is exaggerated.

Still looks pretty cool, though!  :aok

Nope.  I have the default FOV and they are elliptical.  If by POV you mean Point of View (vs Field of View) then still no as stars look circular no matter where you look at them from.

Logged on update went fine. Went offline to see the night view, Awesome!!! Did have to adjust the gamma a little so I could see the drones, also noted the scratches on the cockpit glass is very pronounced making it difficult to discern items on the ground. Stars and Planets are a little on the large side and with my FOV somewhat elliptical. :aok

Been a little preoccupied lately but finally ran the last 3 update patches & all went w\o a hitch......................

Went offline & typed in the command & looked thru the cockpit of my Spitty...............

I liked it a lot.......1st thing that came to mind was Star Wars (I have X-Wing, Tie Fighter & X-Wing vs Tie Fighter somewhere around here).......this night sky look is cool looking from the ground......will have to go up & experience it from alt.

Definitely getting there...............

I found that no matter the time of day, the sky color makes it almost impossible to see the aiming circle of the 88 manned gun.

Once the size of the stars is fixed, the night sky will be awesome.

Not a fan of the big blobby stars.  Makes me think of Christmas tree ornaments than stars.  But I like that things are more in their proper place.  Also noticed the moon, or half the moon, was on the southern horizon.

I just started the Alpha with this version and have an issue in setting up X52. No matter what I do, the throttle is reversed, meaning if I have the throttle pushed forward, its idle, pulled back it is full power.  Also flight seems to be real touchy, but I am still tweaking my settings, so that part I may fix... just wanted to let you know about the throttle issue

Invert axis doesn't?  That's reasonably bizarre.

Without Dxdiag info.txt, we don't know, so will ask:  What operating system, did you do a recent upgrade to say.....  Win X, did you try to copy files over from AH2 (there is a sticky listing files to include and *exclude)????

What happens when you put the check in the box to invert axis?

Options/Controls/Map Controllers

Select Throttle axis.
Click the advanced check box.

Top left corner of the Advanced page is Invert Axis.

I'm running a X52, with no problems on the throttle.

I ran several X52 from wearing them out, on two different PC. Some the axis was fine some it was reversed. Sometimes the axis started out fine, then the axis would reverse.
