I met Frank in 2003 at the Indy Con. Looking back I was asked to take both group photos for The Damned in attendance and MAW. Meeting Chief (AB8AAC), Jordi, DmdKeg, DmdBen, LW, Stega and Dano was a poignant memory. Not to mention sitting next to them for the entire Con.

What type of and where is he in treatment? Lung cancer is bad in that it spreads easily from what I understand. What's his prognosis? (never mind... saw a lot of this on the go fund me page).
I've recently done a lot of research on cancer as I'm three weeks into nine weeks of radiation and about to undergo my second of three cycles of chemo for cancer of the larynx.
Depending on where he is in treatment I might be able to offer some insights as to what to expect but every cancer and treatment plan is different.
The doctors have been giving me warning after warning after warning of all these nasty side effects. I told them none of that would happen to me and, so far, hardly any of it of it has and I believe my attitude toward it has helped me immeasurably. I've lost my sense of taste, my throats constantly sore from radiation and I had withdrawals from a narcotic they put me on to control nausea after my first chemo cycle but that only lasted for a day. Otherwise I've been feeling normal and the nurses have been astounded that my weekly labs (blood tests) keep coming back unchanged.
If he wants to talk PM me and I'll send my phone number.

Thank God I have good insurance ($2800 max out of pocket which I quickly hit). When I told the radiologist that I'd seen the cost to treat cancer of the larynx was $40,000 he told me that was probably low for my treatment plan.
Lung cancer projects north of $60,000. It sounds like Frank's insurance isn't the best and, based on what I read on the go fund me page I'd expect his to exceed the American Cancer Societies projections as well. In addition it sounds like he's living on a relatively low income which combined with treatment costs could prove financially devastating.
I urge anyone reading this to offer whatever help you can to a fellow player.

Thanks folks y'all have been a real blessing. I have adenocarcinoma non small cell cancer. The removed the lower left lobe of my lungs and run a MRI last week of my brain and it had not spread there yet. I have had 2 chemo treatments so far go for my third on next Tuesday 10-27-15, and thanks to all the folks praying for me no bad side effects so far. My main problem is it is effecting my eye sight somewhat and I can't stay on the computer like I want to and if I stare at the game for very long it gets blurry. So I have been limiting my game play to just practice on Thursday and Friday for FSO. The doc said my vision might settle down during my next round of chemo and if I can take some new pill they just came out with I might (and he emphases might) be able to get off of chemo but he would not promise anything.
If anyone wants to talk my phone number is 903-261-1913 right now the chemo is keeping me up most nights I get about 2-3 hours sleep a day.
SALUTE
