Aren't the objectives supposed to be sent to every squad's leadership, and not just the CiC for the frame?

That would be the choice of your frame CIC.

I'm not talking about the orders, I'm talking about the frame objective that are sent out by the Admin CM, usually the Sunday prior to the given frame.
-
Yes, that is what I meant. The CIC can send them to each squad if they desire. It is not really part of the procedure.

-
Really, because I've been getting them every frame for the last 4 years. And I know other squads COs have as well.
-
WarHwk,
Devil is right, the objectives have been sent not only to the frame CiCs, but to each Squadron for longer than I can remember.
This helps to avoid the mistakes that could be made in targeting by having the Squadron CO check the CiC's orders against the objectives among other things.

Gentlemen,
There is no problem at all with you having the frame objectives. Please contact your frame CIC and they will release the objectives to you at their call.
Thanks...

I thought that the frame OBJECTIVES, which are NOT the frame ORDERS are sent to the three emails listed as contacts for each squad. This is how it has been for years and years.
If somebody fudged it up can we just come out and say somebody fudged it up and stop with the witch hunt.
Also--and this goes for everybody. There's a reason I put the above words in CAPS. It wasn't by accident. The OBJECTIVES are for those planning the ORDERS for the frame. THEY ARE NOT THE ORDERS! So if you aren't one of the contacts and didn't get them there's the reason for that.
People constantly interchange the words OBJECTIVES and ORDERS which just tends to confuse the crap out of everybody.
KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!

How my foggy memory remembers it:
When I started the Objectives were often but not always added to the Orders by the CiC so that everyone had the opportunity to cross check for violations and to understand why the orders were what they were, what the big picture was and where second hour action might be found.
Someone noted that since everyone eventually got the Objectives it would be better for those that wanted to practice earlier to get the objectives ASAP.
One CM after another began to send them to all contacts. But it was never a rule and still is the a CM choice.
Can both CiCs please use the side email tool to send Objectives to all of your subordinate squads?

Things HAVE changed over the years but we've settled on what I thought was a system for this. Just in case the side CiC for a frame is unable to do it, for whatever reason, one of his subordinate squaddies (the other two on the list) or another squad CO(that has three on their list too) could take it over. That's why it's done this way. To make that optional might invite chaos come frame time at worst or by Thursday into Friday at best. To send them to EVERYONE would invite chaos HERE every week. So let's not go there! THE OBJECTIVES will NOT have your mission included in them---BUT YOUR ORDERS WILL. If you "want to practice" how will you know what you're flying before Wednesday night when YOUR ORDERS are supposed to get out? Answer: you wouldn't. You're one of the ones that are confusing the OBJECTIVES with the ORDERS. They're not the same thing. So that's out.
The OBJECTIVES would go out (by rule I thought) generally the Sunday PRIOR to the frame. The ORDERS are to go out (by rule I thought) by end of WEDNESDAY prior to the frame. They NEVER went out at the same time to the masses unless the CiC of that frame took absolutely no time to "do" the orders and it was a generally "here it is guys, you figure it out" set of orders. He might divvy up the planes and that's about it. How many times have we seen that? But that was never the idea. In recent years, the three guys on the contact list got the OBJECTIVES on the Sunday prior to the frame. That way at least those guy knew what the general idea for the frame was--just in case. I've gone from being a squad CO for many, many years to a random grunt-- but I'm one of the three in my squad. So I get the OBJECTIVES mailed to me generally sometime on Sunday every week that we have a frame. Pretty much without fail.
I didn't think it ever was that "one CM after another began to send them to all the contacts" thing. I thought that was WHY we had the three squad contacts in the first place? I thought this WAS the rule, the MO if you will, for distribution? If it's not the rule---who the heck decided that? Makes no sense. If it WAS the rule, this entire convo wouldn't be taking place as the right people would get the info when they were supposed to!
Looking at the email I use for this, I notice that I did NOT get the OBJECTIVES as I usually would (even tho the title of this thread says I should have). But then again I wouldn't have expected them sooner than TOMORROW anyway.

FSO Rules (http://www.ahevents.org/fso-rules.html)
Read Section: Squad Operations Frame CiC:
To save everyone the trouble of looking it up. The rule you referenced:
Receive and review the frame objectives as sent by Admin CM
Umm that's YOU bud. Doesn't say anything about the frame CiC distributing the OBJECTIVES. The CM does that. You're screwing it up. But it's OK, you have until tomorrow to unscrew it up. Just---don't screw it up.
To be clear I'm not a random idiot. I've done this a few zillion times for years and years. I know what I'm talking about. Hell ya got your own squaddie tellin ya it's wrong. Come on man.
-
Gentleman,
It is apparent and extremely evident that regardless of the rule(s). The squad leaders want this document. I will concede to the masses and deliver the objectives as past tradition has held. Please find a copy in your email inbox for those that are assigned to receive.
Cheers..

Exactly, Drano.
The only rule on the subject of the objectives is this: "- Receive and review the frame objectives as sent by Admin CM and follow the steps for the Frame CiC.'s."
Nowhere in the FSO rules is there any mention of which squads beyond the CiCs receive the objectives. But what we have is years of a standard procedure where every player on the mailing list is sent the objectives by the Admin CM. This procedure has been followed every week prior to this one, regardless of which FSO CM was Admin, without fail.
Since this practice is apparently not a rule, perhaps it should be.
Edit:

What is extremely evident is that you have misunderstood the rule as it's written. It's not us. This is how this works. It's that way for a reason. That is unless you're one of those CMs that really really likes writing the side orders on a Friday evening before a frame? Because that's where your understanding of that rule would take you if something--anything would happen to that frame CiC. it's your frame after that big guy. As a relatively new CM, and you are that, the best course for you would have been to cop to that rather than cop a tude with all of us.
-
Alright guys, WarHawk has sent the objectives out to all Squad Contacts, let's move on.
Warhawk is a new FSO Admin and that's that. We're trying to get him up to speed and he's been doing a fine job so far, it's just something we overlooked.

Is there a better map available?
Quality of what is provided is pretty poor. Even one without the active bases and such would be great to have.
