Title: Ronda Rousey got KO'd
Post by: rpm on November 15, 2015, 04:32:08 AM
(https://embed.gyazo.com/c781b103de6673a0a52375043bbd8be6.gif) Rousey has destroyed a bunch of girls who can't fight. This time she ran up against a gal who dominated the kickboxing scene before moving over to MMA. She got pummeled.
Rousey was almost out on her feet in the first round. That happens when you don't even have the skills to move your head around so you don't get rocked over and over by simple straight lefts. Holm completely controlled the fight. She kept Rousey at distance, realized Rousey wasn't going to move her head at all, took the easy shots to scramble her brains, and then gave her a nice kick to the neck to seal the deal. Holm was never once in trouble.
Now the big question... How will this affect her Hollywood career? (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/14/009b1317eda5666bc95130943f66b672.jpg)

I agree that ronda chased instead of cutting off the ring and showed zero head movement.
It almost looked like she got controlled by her emotions and forgot all her training but she did have a near armbar at one point but never had holm in trouble on the feet.
The biggest loser in this is Cyborg.

If they made this nude fighting you could expand the market by 10 fold.

Only so long as it's Miesha Tate and Gina Carano. The rest...yikes.
Anyway, I couldn't help but think about Rocky III with all the hype Rousey's built up. I don't care for MMA and UFC, but I HAVE read about a few of the fights. It REALLY sounded like they were feeding Rousey a bunch of opponents who had no business going into the ring with her to build her up, but never giving her a real challenge. The only one who came anywhere CLOSE to matching her (and possibly could have beaten her) was Tate (who before Holm was the only fighter to take Rousey out of the first round). Then here comes Clubber Lang...er...I mean Holm, and BANG.

Be kind of interesting to see what happens on the rematch. From what I've seen of her (admittedly not following ufc super closely for a while) she seems like the type who might up her game to come back.

Please send more Rondas...this one is broken.
Holm spent very little time in kickboxing. She was a 4 time world champion B O X E R. She is too experienced, too strong, too rangy and has a much better corner than Ronda will ever have regarding both standup fighting and fight planning.
This fight wasn't even close. Ronda can't beat this chick and if you guys saw something different, you were watching a different fight.

Wonder how this fight would have gone if she was still depending on her paycheck from winning fights?

She spent plenty of time within clinch range but rarely attempted it.

I am the opposite of an expert, but I was wondering the same thing. Why try to box with a boxer when her strength is grappling?
I remember seeing some fights a long time ago with one of the Gracey's in it. He didn't spend any time at all boxing -- just work to deflect a punch or two while he went straight for the grapple.

She tried twice and failed twice. Just because Rousey wanted to grab her doesn't mean she was going to let her. She defended two takedowns and straight out muscled Rouseys arm bar attempt.
Rousey needs more training.

Yep and yep.
Great video which breaks it down very accurately IMO. Not only did Holm out fight her in stand up, her take down defense and cage defense were just better than Rousey's offense in both departments. Holm wasn't just a better boxer/kickboxer, she was a better fighter in every department. If Ronda had used a judo throw on her, maybe that would have been one area where Ronda "won" in some segment of that fight, but she didn't - she lost in every single category, including conditioning. Holm running at 10k altitude all the time and other cardio/work was better than Ronda's by far. Ronda was breathing out of her mouth in the first minute of that fight.

The woman stopped being a fighter mentally when she started making money as an actress.

Rousey needs more training.
Even during the KO sequence, she was easily within clinch range.
I'm not talking shooting takedowns from the outside because they were both banging inside..........within clinch range.
I've spent enough time boxing and training other martial arts to know that what I saw was Ronda missing many opportunities and throwing her game plan completely out the window.

Agreed she didn't look like the normal Ronda Rousey that I've always watched when she fought, she was trying to box with a boxer and not stick with her game plan and paid the price. If there's a rematch I think she might take it a little bit more seriously and stick to her game plan.

Except for the two clinch-to-throw (her judo specialty) that Ronda failed at, you would be right. Except for those two, lol. Oh, and the actual takedown that resulted in a failed arm bar (again, her specialty).
Apparently the time you have spent competing in high level boxing and martial arts hasn't really helped you see better. Just saying. The fight didn't last long enough for there to be many more opportunities for clinch-girl.
And, she got out coached, out-gamed, and didn't stick to her own gameplan. Those aren't marks of a champion. She needs more training lol

Considering her beat down perhaps now would be a good time to approach her about dating? She's at her weakest point in life right now, maybe I have a shot!

If any of you watched the "weigh-in" last Friday, and know anything about both Ronda and Holly.............
you would have noticed Ronda was not in it from the beginning "emotionally" she was completely out of her usual self.......Holly even commented on it and found it to be unlike Ronda, at the weigh in
after the very first straight punch from holly's left fist....... you'll see Ronda's jaw drop, in a way resembling "WTF"......from that point on Ronda quits breathing from her nose and is breahing from her mouth, and it was all down hill from that point on..........
I just hope Ronda does not fall back in to the "Depression" she was in right after she brought home the first ever Medal for women in Olympics Judo......... It took Ronda almost 3+ years to drag herself out of that Depression.......... and going by her actions at the weigh-in for this match, one could tell something wasn't right with Ronda, emotionally.......... and Holly even acknowledged it, herself........ Holly could tell
Holly, got to respect her, she was very humble after winning the match!

About 20% of people who take the amino acid supplements to enhance muscle cell recovery during stress like heavy weightlifting workouts or MMA fighting suffer neurological issues. Rousy has a history of depression? You start looking into the primary amino acid supplement used L-glutamine at medical sites and there is a very long list of side effects including not to use if the person suffers from any neurological issues.
You can get L-glutamine from eating meat naturally. Holms takes Intel Pharma's Azid which is primarily an L-glutamine supplement. Lots of body builders take it to enhance muscle recovery. Rousy may be one of those unlucky few who's body does not react well to amino acid supplements.

Ronda is a 1 trick pony!
She's very good at Judo and has used the arm bar to win most of her fights. The fight before Holms was a fluke and she Ko'd a supposed puncher.
Holms can box and she has excellent kicking skills,Ronda tried to fight the wrong fight and lost. If there's a rematch I'd expect the same to happen,Holms is just too good of a boxer and she's a lefty, notice it was a left legged kick!
At least Ronda looked like a fighter, after the fight....... :devil
