Just strap the pontoons to the airplane and it could take off and land practically any where.

Lock the breaks, then firewall the throttle, when you reach takeoff speed just pull up and fly...  Or drive the boat to the beach an make a real NOE raid.

Nice find.
I'd always wondered how they managed to get planes moved in the Pacific. It didn't make sense they'd fly-ferry all of them.
